Customers are impressed with the UltraSharp U3417W's large screen size and immersive viewing experience. The monitor's build quality and resolution also receive high praise, with many citing its beautiful design and excellent picture quality. While some users wish for a faster refresh rate, the curvature of the screen is generally seen as a positive feature. Minor backlight bleed was noted by a few customers, but it did not appear to be a widespread issue.

I did not buy this monitor for gaming as most of the reviews that I read prior to my purchase. When I picked it up I thought that I had made a big mistake, this thing is big. Once setup and I got use to it I absolutely love it. Dell makes a solid product, well built and it looks great.

I genuinely hate this monitor. I don't even know why this is being sold as a monitor when it's actually a mirror. This thing is so reflective that no matter where I put my lights - there will always be reflections. I did a ton of research on how to properly set up lighting in an office and to eliminate reflections. I know what I'm doing. 99% of the people who buy this will not go to the lengths I have in order to minimize the reflections. Just look at the image attached. It's a mirror!! Not a monitor. Working on this monitor at night is downright painful and gives me a headache every time. My eyes feel so tired when I go to bed. I can't get any work done. I have been trying to make it work for so long... I've even put a black backdrop behind me to make sure that the screen sees nothing but pure black. But obviously I have to be in front of the monitor. And if there is ANY light ANYWHERE in the room, my shoulders will catch that light obviously and this monitor will reflect even the slightest ambience light making it so hard to look at it. Of course when it's turned on the reflections are reduced a little but still very far from anything useable. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and do not buy this piece of crap. I NEVER had this issue with my iMac's monitor!

I own this monitor for almost a year now. I bought it for multiple display setup ( two Dell UP2716D monitors & this monitor) in my tiny (& messy home office, lol) work, photo editing, & entertainment as well. Plenty of work space due to the UW screen, great resolution, color is really good out of the box (I calibrated it though). The two cons are 1.) tiny bleed on the lower side of the screen while the two UP2716D's have zero bleed. 2.) calibrating it isn't as good as the UP2716D. But it's no big deal, minor cons against many pros.
