Crystal clear monitor Posted by: from: on I bought this as an emergency purchase when my mother's monitor died, so I didn't have much time to do any research. It was just a great size monitor at a great price (40% off sale). But, after a month of using it, I'm actually very pleased with this monitor and would buy another even at full price. The display is crystal clear, but has a glass-like (rather than matte-type) finish, so you may have a mirror effect if you're in a light room and looking at a dark picture. The only issue I have encountered is, when attached to multiple inputs, the monitor automatically switches to another active input when the current display stops broadcasting (computer reboots, etc.). For most users, this would be the preferred action; but when repairing one computer while using another, the automatic screen switch gets annoying. LOL I would definitely recommend this monitor to friends looking for a replacement.

Great Monitor! Posted by: from: on Great monitor that delivers a clear and crisp picture quality. The monitor brightness and overall contrast is fantastic, and gives a very vibrant and accurate picture. The slim bezels are fantastic too, so using it in a multiple monitor setup is very nice as there isn't much bezel space between the screens. Only real design flaw is the inability to adjust the height of the vertical stand, but the pros of this monitor hugley overwhelm any con it has. With DVI, HDMI, and VGA outputs as well, the monitor has a versatility for what you're able to plug into it. The monitor has no speakers, but as a gamer, I prefer actual seperate good quality speakers or a headset, so it's a non-issue. Great buy, and excellent monitor!

Misleading spec Posted by: from: on I bought this monitor because according to the Besbuy's specification it has built-in speakers. Turned out the monitor has only the audio output for headphones but no speakers at all. Meanwhile the monitor has an excellent picture but awkward control. I has returned the monitor to the store and replaced it with the Dell monitor with really internal speakers.

Great monitor at a great price. Posted by: from: on I recently replaced 2 LG monitors with two Acers. Both LG monitors failed within weeks of each other. They were approximately the same age, about 2 years, and were in constant use. The failure modes were identical and it turned out thru web research that these LG monitors are practically guaranteed to fail over time. That is why I decided to go with another manufacturer and settled on Acer. The price attracted me first; however, when I compared the display to others on the shelf the Acer model impressed me with its brightness, definition, and contrast. Additionally the monitor is a lot lighter and thinner than the LG model (both are 23" displays) mainly because the Acer has an external power brick. The Acer has a positive click on/ off switch as opposed to the touch sensitive switch on the LG which would drive me mad since the LG would shut off with the barest brush of the switch pad. The stand on the Acer allows the display to be tilted back about 20 degrees from normal whereas the LG didn't tilt at all. I don't buy equipment based on what's cheapest but base my purchase on reviews, physical appearance, and performance. The Acer model met all my criteria for purchase. I highly recommend this display for professional and home users alike.

Good monitor for low sale price Posted by: from: arizona on was gonna do the tv to PC thing with hdmi. then saw this on sale for $99.00 saved me by half. TV would not have worked out anyways. too big no space. things that are noteworthy: NO DVI cable in my box, it was a sealed box. so you might need one. CAN NOT be wall or stand mounted, lack of vesa mounting holes in back will confirm this. D-sub and HDMI cable ARE included. monitor is thin and should be handled with some degree of care as all things these days if you drop it its probably gonna break.. the picture is clear and crisp with HDMI cable. screen is responsive and does not seem to lag. i use this on a linux box so what you get on a windows box may differ greatly. minus 1 due to no DVI cable. get one while the sale lasts !!!

Amazing auxiliary display Posted by: from: on I wanted an extended display for my MacBook Pro and I have been researching for a display that is both economic as well as has a lot of screen space. I found it on a sale for 89$ and I decidied to give it a try. The picture quality is superior and crisp in comparison to other displays in the same range. But again, comparing it to macbook's retina is unfair. The only issue I found is the buttons on the monitor. It's kind of hard to set up or change the brightness etc. I constantly use my screen and I like to keep my screens in low brightness while working and in a fairly high bright mode while watching movies. It's hard to keep switching between modes and the preset modes do not do much help. But the display does its job and I personally love it!

Was great for 8 weeks Posted by: from: on Bought monitor at beginning of March, liked it a lot until today, when it suddenly dimmed, especially in the lower corners. After I left it off about 15 minutes, it returned to normal for a while, then same thing happened after about an hour. Left it off several hours, worked a while, then same thing. Geek Squad suggested it might be backlight going bad and that I should contact Acer ASAP. Did that and learned that I need to ship it to them in Texas, at my expense, preferably via UPS or Fedex, with 3-5" bubblewrap padding, then wait 7-10 days for repair. Tried to get some troubleshooting on their site to avoid this if something else is wrong, but they'd charge $28. I'm not at all happy with this, since sending it for repair -- under warranty! -- will cost about a quarter of the price of a new monitor. Will get it fixed, but won't buy Acer again with this kind of warranty policy.

Awesome computer monitor Posted by: from: Norcal on So far I'm thrilled with my purchase. I replaced an 11 year-old flat screen that worked, but was technically ancient. I ordered my Acer online and picked it up the same day. I opened the box, assembled the base (no tools required), plugged HDMI cable (included) into my Mac Mini, plugged in the power cord, turned it on and began to use it. The resolution is better than anything in my house (including my MacBook Pro). The colors are rich, contrast good; no adjustments whatsoever. The viewing angle is one of the reasons I chose this monitor and I'm not disappointed. There is practically no border to the monitor, so when the monitor's off it's essentially a black piece of glass on a black stand. My original Samsung cost $400, so I'm very happy with the price. Con: The buttons (lower right bottom) are not marked (other than a small symbol for the power), but when you press one you get an onscreen menu. Not necessarily a bad thing, just a bit of a mystery at first. The "on" button emits a downward shining blue light, but that goes off when the monitor's asleep. All that said, once I turned the monitor on I no longer need to use the buttons at all.

Sharp images Posted by: from: rochester, ny on The good: Right out of the box this monitor was easy to set up with out any use of the owners manual. The image it displays is very sharp and vibrant compared to other monitors I have owned in the past. The face of the unit has a very modern look being almost completely flat. There is only a little trim along the bottom edge giving it less of a boxy feel than other similar monitors. This also makes a nicer setup for dual monitors as you could put two of them next to each other and almost feel as if they were the same device. The inputs and outputs are more than what i need out of this monitor, but its nice to have them there if i ever run into a situation that i would want to use them. The bad(very minor at that): you may have to mess around with the monitors menu buttons a bit to understand how it operates. After you press a menu button the navigation menu is displayed on the screen and you have to look at the text on the screen to know what buttons to hit.

Nice!!! Posted by: from: Pueblo, CO on Saw this monitor on on sale for 80 dollars off their regular price. They didn't have a working display in the store, but I bought the monitor anyway. Let's just say that I was VERY surprised. After having 2 bad experiences with Acer Computers, this monitor was a breath of fresh air. The picture quality is simply superb and it's VERY easy to set up using a variety of inputs. I can't imagine anyone needing a better quality monitor, unless you needed one with a larger screen. Highly Recommended!!.
