G Sync with 100hz UWQHD
Posted by: Code from: on
Premium monitor for both productivity fidelity in video and graphics editing as well as programming and design due to the screen real estate and IPS panel. Gaming at 100hz with G Sync at this resolution requires a good video card, any card before a GTX 980 Ti will never get you above 100 FPS. And you need 100fps to really take full advantage of this monitor anyway operating at 100hz. 4K monitors are not up to snuff. And finally, this is a first that Best Buy offers anything relative to what the real market values as a good or semi-decent PC product. Is this monitor for you? Combination of solid metal frame, IPS panel with G Sync at 100hz anyone would jump on it. If your wallet can afford it, your wallet can afford the PC configured to run it properly otherwise look somewhere else for the cheaper products.

I consider myself an avid gamer and my wife says I am a "Techoholic" . I have had ASUS ROG monitors, Dell Ultrasharps and just got rid of my BenQ with Free-sync. I can say without a doubt once set up correctly this monitor is the best I have ever used/scene. I will admit it took some getting used to the new aspect ratio and widescreen. I was reluctant to give Acer a chance as I had two Acer laptops stop working on me years ago and thought they were the "cheap" brand. After trying this monitor quality is top notch, I cannot go back to normal monitors and everything looks and plays amazing. I am running SLI'd MSI 980's and BF4, WoW and The Division look buttery smooth. However I would not recommend this monitor for non gamers as the G sync tech is expensive and they will get virtually no use out of it since most movies only run at 29/30 FPS. If you have the money or are on the fence as I was DO NOT HESITATE to buy the monitor. It comes with a 3 year Acer warranty and I look forward to when my daughter and wife go to bed to use this beauty. This is an expensive upgrade but well worth its asking price.

Biggest upgrade since i started pc gaming
Posted by: Yurok84 from: on
I came from a 1440p 144hz acer ips monitor to this ultra wide X34 ips monitor and it simply leaves me in awe. This gsync 100hz (easily overclockable in the monitor menu) 21:9 panel provides such a smooth beatiful experience, thats just under 4k specs, that I can never go back to 16:9... or any resolution for that matter. I'm not even interested in 4k anymore... until maybe a true 4k 21:9 100hz ips monitor comes out.
I was slightly hesitant to grabbing this monitor due to some well known issues but after a little research, I found that the newer X34A models ironed out. And Best Buy support has verified that these are the models they have available. I received my monitor and have no dead pixels and no unacceptable bleed. There is not much I can comment as to cons simply because this monitor set up flawlessly.
Pair this monitor with the new GTX 1080 graphics cards and you'll be in gaming heaven. I didn't think I would see much of an upgrade coming from an already excellent monitor, but can say it has been the greatest upgrade I have had since I started PC gaming.

Nothing short of amazing

I have been gaming on PC for close to 20 years and have seen the evolution of displays. I feel like this one if the apex of that evolution. I previously had a 3x23" Acer set up, but the bezels on the monitors made surround display awkward and clunky, so I usually just played on one screen.
I recently built a new rig: i7 6700K, 16GB DDR4, GTX 980Ti, and it was OBVIOUS that I needed to upgrade my displays. So I started looking around. Times had changed, IPS had come out, G-Sync was now a thing, high refresh rates, and curved displays were all features that were in high demand. However, there was only ONE display that combined all of these in ultrawide format - the Predator. I was definitely skeptical at spending over $1300 (after taxes) on a display, but after hooking this thing up I will say that it was worth every penny.
A favorite feature of this display is GameView, where you can place adaptive and agnostic hipshot crosshairs on the screen for FPS games. The crosshairs even highlight when you have headshots lined up, pretty cool!
HELPFUL NOTE: DO NOT connect to this display with hdmi. Use DisplayPort, and make sure you get a DP 1.2 certified cable. I needed a little more length, so I got the Accell B142C-010B from Amazon. You will only be able to use G-Sync and 100Hz refresh if connected via DisplayPort. If you're going to use hdmi, then don't waste your money on this display. Hdmi is limited to 49.97Hz refresh.

Ordered on Tuesday; arrived on Thursday. Set up went smoothly. Really good image clarity and color depth. Impressed with Acer's build quality on this one: it is solid. Overclocks easily. Smooth, blur and artifact free gaming with built-in surround sound at 3440 x 1440.

The best quality monitor, for a price you'd expect. I don't approve of people complaining about the price, because you ARE paying for quality.
The curve is slight, so it's useable from many viewing angles. I prefer this now.
Gsync saved my frames! I can't beleive the difference it makes.
Ultrawide 21:9 is unbeatable. Having a smooth single screen solution will always triumph multimonitor setups. Glad they didn't try to make it 2160 pixels high though, that would be way to much for most computers to handle things like gaming and whatnaught.
The LEDs under the frame are a perfect way to illuminate my desk. And it's customizable to change brightness and color, although there isn't any full RGB support, just 4 solid settings. Blue green red and white I beleive. Brightness control, and other flashing patterns that noone uses unless they want a seizure.
Stand that ships with it is beautiful, simple, but as expected, large. A wall mount solution may be in my future.
Overall 10/10. Didn't need the USB port on the back at all, would have preferred to not have that and save a few bucks.
My rig this is hooked up to has a Samsung evo 850 SSD, single zotac amp extreme 980ti, and a awesome z97 mobo, so obviously a higher end pc is required to game with this monitor.

Amazing monitor but pricey
Posted by: Naseer from: on
I will start off by stating the cons :
* Backlight bleed (Inherent with IPS panels)
* Menu is clunky and takes getting use to
* You need to have a large table if planning to use the display with the supplied Stand
* Has only 1 display port and 1 HDMI port
* Nvidia G-Sync ( a huge plus if you have a Nvidia graphics card)
* 100Hz display ( you will notice the difference immediately after over clocking the display to 100Hz)
* Beautiful color reproduction
* Fast response time
* The curve display is a gimic but looks cools
* Onboard speakers are adequate if you arent listening to music or playing games for watching youtube/facebook videos they are fine.
* The LED strip at the bottom of the display is a nice touch now I can match the display accent lighting to my computers lighting
* The 4 usb 3.0 ports on the display are much appreciated you can never have enough usb ports
Let me tell you why I chose this display, I knew it was pricey but the 2 most important things to me were G-Sync and 100Hz display because I have an EVGA 1080 FTW graphics card. If you have an AMD card I would suggest you stick to Acer Predator Z35 which is $400 cheaper than this display nvidia is charging a premium for their G-sync technology. The backlight bleed does not bother me, I have been using IPS displays for the last 13 years and not once did I see an IPS monitor without backlight bleed, the backlight bleed one the X34 predator is on an acceptable level...well its much better than the 1st batch of 2015 displays I was lucky enough to get a June 2016 manufactured model.
I primarily use the X34 predator for gaming so I dont mind having one displayport and one HDMI port. I also use external speakers for sound and headphones for competitive online gaming so I dont care about the onboard speakers.
All in all I am very happy with it except the price if you are thinking of getting it ...get it you wont regret it just make sure you get a may-june 2016 manufactured model because all the issues reported with the monitor have been fixed with the latest iterations of this display.

Best 21.9 monitor so far.
Posted by: Duong from: on
Was looking for something with higher resolution than 1080p but not too demanding on GPU performance like 4k. This is the best option so far. 21:9 gives more field of view + 3440 x 1440 makes image more sharper and crisp with minimal diagonal jagged effects. I was able to run games at 3440 X 1440 max with 80 to 100 frames off of a single GTX 1080 card with this monitor.

New Levels of Emersion!

First off! Forget about Virtual Reality unless you have tons of money to blow for a consumer test market.
21:9 aspect ratio is a new breed of gaming, while MOST AAA titles will support this resolution, sadly not all "AAA" title will... Causing the newly owned owner to be doing extra homework just to maneuver and cater to they're monitors needs. I saw this because I've read reviews and this wasn't mentioned Much in most reviews. As the times move forward I believe all AAA titles and developers will support this as standard. 1440x3440 is max resolution.
Okay! Why this monitor is the coolest so far your games will just excell at game And you'll become completely invested into the beauty of an- think about this- a total of 30% Additional screen real state! Occording to Blizzard this is considered cheating in their game OVERWATCH which when originally launched supported the resolution 1440x3440 then later patched because they didn't want people cheats- that's fine but you could just implement a force 16:9 server.... I'm not apart of the MLG so please don't hinder my experience for professionals don't use 21:9 lol once this baby get a upgrade to 4k or my gosh, even better 8k technology you won't find a better monitor on the market, period
You built a PC with an Nvidia GPU? Perfect! Gsync feature links up beautifully to provide a crisp clear experience!
You should see GTA V on max settings with this monitor, blew my mind!
Buy this monitor when it goes on sale!

Best Monitor Currently Available
Posted by: KyleB from: on
I really wanted to try g-sync so I initially purchased a 4k model from Acer. While it was a great monitor and 4k is beautiful, I found I couldn't go back to a non ultrawide format. The only thing I had yet to try at this point was a higher refresh rate monitor so I took the plunge with the x34 and it is fantastic. I will say the back light bleed is there, but given how bad some people's monitors have been I've decided mine is definitely tolerable. I only really see it on fully black screens. Colors are fantastic with the IPS panel and 100Hz is amazing for games, though you will need more than a single GTX 1080 to max out current AAA titles and maintain 90-100 fps. If you don't want to spend that kind of money though g-sync works wonders as far down as the 40-45 fps range. Overall an excellent must have monitor in my opinion.
