The Hurricane Express: Outside the Law
In the eighth chapter of The Hurricane Express, it looks like Larry (John Wayne) has managed to get the goods on the mysterious "Wrecker" when he captures the elusive villain's chief henchman Carlson (Al Bridge). Unfortunately, Carlson is murdered, and Frank Stratton (Edmund Breese), the escaped-convict father of Larry's sweetheart Gloria (Shirley Grey). Meanwhile, Gloria barely escapes a car crash, only to be kidnapped by the bad guys, who intend to flush out Frank and forced him to tell them whereabouts of a fortune in stolen gold. Gloria manages to get word to Larry, who has been enlisted by railroad executive Edwards (Tully Marshall) to prove that Edwards' business rival Gray (Lloyd Whitlock). The Hurricane Express: Buried Alive
In Episode Four of The Hurricane Express), Larry John Wayne) rescues Gloria (Shirley Grey) from the minions of the mysterious "Wrecker" and continues his search for the gold shipment stolen from the L&R railroad. Larry teams up with a man named Frank (Edmund Breese), who claims to be a railroad detective. In truth, Frank is an escaped convict determined to prove his innocence by harrassing L&R president Edwards (Tully Marshall)--and, also unbeknownst to Larry, Frank is Gloria's father. Meanwhile, several people fall under suspicion of being the mysterious "Wrecker", notably Larry's airline-owner boss Gray (Lloyd Whitlock) and disgruntled ex-railroad employee Jordan (Matthew Betz). The Hurricane Express: Danger Lights
As Episode Five of The Hurrican Express gets under way, Larry (John Wayne) and Gloria (Shirley Grey) manage to escape being blown up in a mine shaft. In truth, however, the "Wrecker" is wearing a rubber mask to make himself resemble Stratton, and it may well be that Gloria's missing boss Walter Gray (Lloyd Whitlock) is the real villain. After a fierce shootout between the cops and the "Wrecker"'s gang, Larry sidetracks the authorities to enable the real Stratton to escape and to track down the genuine "Wrecker" himself.
