Good, but cheap. Posted by: from: on These headphones are amazing for the price, but the quality of the material used is complete junk. My first headphone broke right where the ear piece connects to the headband. Then iget areplacement and it breaks in the same spot. They should have been made more durable.

Amazing Headphones however... Posted by: from: Houston, TX on These headphones were really good however i have a few things to add. If you are looking for quality, you got it right here. If looking for deep bass these might be lacking, don't get me wrong they still sound amazing with their level Bass yet I enjoy the most bass. So if you aren't looking for the best Bass level, or if you aren't a true Deep Bass lover as I am then you shall be stunned by the quality of sound. Quick Recommendation if you are looking for more bass with good quality look into the B&W P5, they sound amazing and even have VERY STRONG BASS which is ironic because you wouldn't expect it because of their size. However the P5 are not Active noise cancelling but noise isolating (still 60% as good due to the design). If looking for better Active Noise Cancelling look into Bose QuietComfort 15. They do have the best noise cancelling. However they do fit a bit big so if size is important look into QuietComfort 3. Again the AKG are the perfect level between Deep Bass, Noise Cancelling, Size, and Quality. If you enjoy one feature over the other then look into the above headphones.

Its almost having $$$ monitor speakers on my ears Posted by: from: on I bought the Harmon/Kardon CL headphones and were pretty good and did think about getting the B&W P5 but I did not like how it sits on my ears, but I did like H/K CL. The sound quality was nice and it was decently comfortable. I then found out that its the parent company of AKG and I am familiar with their $400 studio headphones and their reputation as well. So heck, why not, I bought the AKG K495NC because I don't have an active noise canceling headphones and my previous pairs were sound isolating. These headphones were amazing sound testing Chuck Mangione's "Bellavia" I was impressed and I teared a bit because these headphones were tight in accuracy. The bass in these headphones were great but not too boomy like the Beats Audio or other headphones that focuses on R&B and Dubstep. It was either natural or adequate amount depending on the song, so the bass was just right; and the trebble was good but I have some mix feeling on some songs but I was fine with it. Built quality is great, sturdy, and classy. The one thing I also like and something that is very important to me is that you can disconnect the wire and could replace it in the future.

great audio quality - noise cancellation on or off Posted by: from: Sacramento, CA on I had the small bose top of the line noise cancellation headphones for 10 years. They just stopped working so I looked into several replacement options. The AKG offered the best balance of sound quality, flexibility and overall quality. The beauty was the phones were on sale so I got an outstanding deal! Thanks BB...

Best in its price range... Posted by: from: Texas on I was looking to replace my Sennheisers but couldn't find them locally, so I looked into these headphones. They're great for sound design and the sound cancellation... well, my wife made me nearly jump out of my skin when she touched me on the shoulder, cause I didn't hear her come up behind me.

Not Happy Posted by: from: on I purchased these headphones over the Bose QC3 due to the recommendation of the sales associate. I had to order them and wait. I checked out the reviews online and they seemed to agree that they were superior in sound and I liked the fact that you could still listen to them when the battery died. Nice feature. Ok the first thing I noticed is that they are uncomfortable after wearing them for more than 45 minutes. The second was that they have a rattle in the left ear piece due to the noise cancelling switch. Then after about a year the cheap plastic arm that holds the left headphone to the head band broke and now I have a dangling ear phone. Not good but the warranty was up so I am stuck trying to glue a $350 " superior" headset back together. Real nice! I have always kept them in their very nice box and have not gotten them hung up or jerked on so I am a little disturbed that when removing them from my head they just snapped. I would not recommend purchasing these because of this. I can live with the rattle because it only happens when I am moving them but the way they broke and the fact that this seems to be a problem with them keeps me from recommending them.
