Amazing film Posted by: from: Chicago Suburbs on I recently watched this in one of my classes and it immediately had a major impact on me, Cameron Crowe, the writer/ director of the film has managed to capture and present a story filled with emotion, life lessons, and has packed it so full with nostalgia that it makes me miss a time that I was never even lived in.

Great Movie Posted by: from: on This is an almost perfect movie which balances comedy, drama, and romance really well, while mixing it all in with a great sound track. If you have not seen this movie you, you really need to check it out, and if you just don't remember it too well, check it out again to remind yourself just how good it is.

Trip down Memory Lane Posted by: from: Weaverville, NC on For those of you who fondly remember the '70s this movie will be an enjoyable trip down Memory Lane for you. This movie realistically captures the feeling and the flavor of a touring rock band in that era and with a fantastic soundtrack as well.

Captures the essence of 70's rock. Posted by: from: Brookfield, WI on This is a nostalgic look at the 1970's rock scene and the groupies that surrounded the stars. We're offered an inside glimpse of a rock tour through the eyes of a high school student put on assignment by Rolling Stone. The premise seems improbable but this is the fictionalized version of director Cameron Crowe's real life travels with various rock bands in the 1970's. His adventures are offered in composite form here. Patrick Fugit stands in as the young Crowe and offers a good combination of early innocence tempered by the inevitable jaded view of dealing with real people who just happen to be rock stars. Our idols don't always stand up to close scrutiny. If you want to report objectively, you're not going to be everyone's friend. Very good casting includes Frances McDormand as his strong but loving mother, Billy Crudup as the leader of the movie band Stillwater and Kate Hudson as a groupie that grabs that heart of the rock star and the reporter. In supporting roles are Jason Lee and Zooey Deschanel. Definitely worth seeing as a fine piece of film making plus the period sound track and fine performances all around

good movie Posted by: from: okc, ok. on A good movie by Cameron Crowe. Somewhat based on his youth as a writer for Rolling Stone Magazine. If you like classic rock and the whole rock band scene you will enjoy this movie. Only thing that kept me from rating 5 stars is the special features. At the end some of the chapters it would just lock up in my player, movie played fine.

A kid wanting too know more about rock stars! Posted by: from: on This film has adult scenes of crazy lifestyles. They are rockers hoping to make it to the top of the charts and enjoy life along the way. Kate Hudson's character, not a groupie, is an enthused groupie. The story revolves around her and some groupies hanging out with start up bands beginning their annual tour and a young teen hoping to get a good scoop about the band's life while on tour. It was very entertaining. I really liked it.

Greatest rock movie ever Posted by: from: on Cameron crowe basically relating his life story is his gift to rock n roll, but it also a gift to those who have always dreamed of being involved in some way, especially given the era. A great time piece. Acting is genuine and how ingenious it was to cast fugit in the key role. He captured the "awe" as well as anyone could!

Great movie at a great price Posted by: from: Thousand Oaks, CA on I loved this movie as a former music journalist. It reflected a lot of how I felt when I was out there trying to get stories as a young cub reporter. Even if that wasn't part of the plot, it was still well acted, and flowed in a great way. Great acting by the younger actors. Good supporting cast and story.

must see if you can't remember the 70's Posted by: from: portland or. on loved this movie, the acting was great, the story line was perfect. casting did a great job for the different characters, Kate Hudson was perfect as penny lane, it showed when the music for the fans changed to for the money. liked the party in Topeka KS., lived there for awhile and that was about how it was at the time.
