Great Refrigerator/Ice Maker
Posted by: dmander27 from: on
This refrigerator was one of the most inexpensive at the store yet it works fantastically! The ice can be cubed or crushed. It has never run out of ice on me but sometimes it does splatter ice if I don't use a cup with a large enough opening. I just try to be careful now. Don't listen to the reviews that says it is loud. The ice-maker does not make a peep! It was a perfect fit into my 36-inch wide space. The delivery guys were friendly and service was prompt. Overall, great buy

Excellent value for a 24 Cubic foot unit
Posted by: SirVantes from: on
We've had this one for a year and are very pleased with it.
We shopped a lot before choosing the Amana. It turned out to have the best feature set for a 22-25 cubic foot unit and fit nicely into a smaller space, 30" wide, than the old one.
Initial issues with the ice maker spitting cubes past the glass onto the floor were fixed by a local shop under warranty. We also had to run several gallons of water through the system to get ride of plastic taste.
Now that it is settled in, we find it so quiet one has to step up close to hear it actually working. I've installed thermometers in both sides and carefully adjusted for recommended temps, 40 degrees/F refer and 20 degrees/F freezer. The system is so efficient both freezer and refer can be held in those temp ranges with very low power use.

Bins in the refrigerator are too fragile
Posted by: CindyR from: on
We are older and no children in our household. However, the veggie bin has cracked from top to bottom and split when less than 2 months since our purchase. We contacted the manufacturer and they are replacing but you need to be aware that that plastic is so thin that the bins do not hold up to average use.

Better than we used to have.
Posted by: Tanggo from: Florence, SC on
The price is good for people like us who are in a limited income. Really helps us save money. It is perfect for storing foods as long as possible.
We can always enjoy buying stuffs that are on sale and enough for future consumption. We don't have to worry where we can keep it, there is always a space for us to keep it safe.
We just hope that we can use this longer than what is expected. It is working good for us right now.

OK valu, problem with water leaking
Posted by: dciv from: Round Rock, TX on
The Amana we bought was for a rental. the freezer started leaking. Also, the ice does periodically get stuck in the dispenser. Called Best Buy/Amana and a repair person was sent out. It could be fixed, but would be very involved. As it was only1.5 weeks old, we called Best Buy and they said no problem, they would replace it. As for the product, it is OK. For Best Buy, they did a great job and were very nice and helpful in resolving the issue.

Stylish, no fancy frills, great price
Posted by: Cosmo from: Chicago,Ill. on
good water hookup design for easy connection. ease of movement on wheels. easy door adjustment. like the smooth glossy finish; just wipe up. like the green color display. runs fairly quietly. water filter on bottom is better than inside taking up room like my last one. deep door pockets accommodate all necessary drinks. icemaker noise is standard. tall water dispenser can accept small cookware 2-3 qt. for soups. only drawback is small drip from dispenser after use but tray lifts easily for wipe up; small not even maybe worth mentioning.

Great economy model side-by-side
Posted by: MackTruck from: West Peoria, IL on
Needed a fridge in a pinch, Best Buy got this to us in 5 days and hauled away our non-functioning fridge. Comes with a water filter and even a sensor letting you know when to change the water filter. The water and ice dispenser are nice, but the ice chute seems to bash up the ice even if you don't want it crushed, which leads to little bits of ice that fly out and miss your cup. The ice cubes themselves are very nice little crescent shapes. There is plenty of room in the fridge, and even though there is not a small meat and cheese drawer, everything is easy to find even when it's fully stocked. The freezer also has a lot of room.

Good fridge, but not perfect
Posted by: apeterson from: on
Ahhh, the search for the "Perfect Fridge"... We thought this one would be close, and it does have some great features, but it still falls short in some areas.
Pros: Lots of space, adjustable shelving options are awesome, ice production is amazing (first icemaker in a fridge that can keep up with my large family), right-door option to open without shelving, etc.
Cons: Lower tray requires both doors to be opened to access, left door shelving is narrow and almost useless, etc.
Overall it is one of the better fridge's we have owned, but we are still searching for the "Perfect Model"...

Bought fridge for $700. It was a good value at that price because it had water/ice feature.

This fridge looks VERY expensive without the price tag! Looks fantastic in my kitchen! It isn't top of the line quality bit at this price - who cares! I read some negative comments regarding the ice maker dropping ice everywhere but I have had no such issues! As far as I'm concerned this was exActly what I was looking for- expensive look- low price!! Extremely satisfied! Best Buy delivery was awesome!!
