America's Castles: The Great Frontier A&E takes viewers inside some of the beautiful homes built on America's frontier lands in this episode. Of perhaps singular beauty is the 37-room mansion Rosemount, built by John Thatcher for his family in Pueblo, CO. Its interior woodwork is carved from oak, cherry, maple, and mahogany. Also featured is the handsome Moss Mansion built of red sandstone back in 1903 and designed by New York architect Henry Janeway Hardenbergh. Many original pieces of furniture and the Persian carpet selected by the Moss family can still be seen today. Finally, there's the beautifully decorated Terrace Hill in Des Moines, IA, now home to that state's governor. ~ Elizabeth Smith, Rovi
