Old Fashioned Monster Movie With Great Effects Posted by: from: Eastchester NY on The effects in this movie still hold up against todays movies. The transformation scene. is worth the price alone. If you know this movie then buy the movie. Its still worth watching again and again. If you havent seen it and you are a horror buff then you are missing out on the gold standard of werewolf movies.

my all time favorite horror movie Posted by: from: Phoenix on i was 17 when this movie came out in the fall of 1981 i thought it was the coolest movie i had ever seen and i still think that btw rick backer won awards for the practical effects in this film....it is a classic great acting music atmosphere everything a movie like this should be it was ahead of it's time and i still prefer effects like the ones in this film vs many other that are popular today. i have this movie on vhs dvd and now on blu-raythis is horror at it's very best....

Nice edition Posted by: from: Winchendon, MA on Although there is no reason to throw your older Blu-ray disk away for this one, this edition makes some nice additions to the last DVD version. This disk is as high resolution as the original source material allows.

Very boring werewolf movie Posted by: from: New York, NY on I decided to buy this movie on bluray because it was on sale for $9.99 thinking that it would be great to watch it again since it was a classic but when I was watching it on my PS3 I got very bored and fell asleep during the movie. I think it would have been better if they showed the werewolf more and less talking in the movie that is what a werewolf movie is suppose to be alot of blood, gore, violence but they barely showed the werewolf in the movie and the funniest scene was at the end where the girl tells the werewolf that she wants to help him because she loves him do you really think a werewolf will understand love lol I really don't think so I think I should have bought something else instead of this movie what a waste of a trip and money

An American Classic Posted by: from: on John Landis' "An American Werewolf in London" is a hilarious, horrifying, ingenious take on the werewolf genre, and its legacy will likely stand the test of time. Originally intended to star John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd, Landis' good friends, budget concerns due to the film's very unique tone led to a different cast that greatly benefited the final film, which maintains laughs while bringing honest scares along with the killer soundtrack and amazing special effects work by the legendary Rick Baker. The amount of extras included on this release make it worth just about anything they'd want to charge for it, but it's almost always under $10. A fantastic release.

Classic Horror Film! Posted by: from: Rockford IL on This is a great Horror/Comedy from the early 80's. I had not seen it in more than a decade but, I'm glad that I picked this up for a reasonable price ($7.99) for the Halloween season. The transfer from Universal is sub par and not quite up to blu ray standards so, keep that in mind if you are a hardcore videophile. It does look better than DVD,but you can tell that Universal put very little to no effort into this release. The sound quality is decent for a film of this era, just don't expect it to sound like a modern action flick. If you like films with a great story you should definitely check out this classic.

Brillant!!! I watched this movie at older age Posted by: from: on I've always been one to love Horror movies, but for some reason I didn't watch this one until I was like 32 years old! The special effects were insanely good for its time and it seriously scared me a good bit! I don't scare easy! This is a great one to repeat to watch over the years, especially around Halloween :)

Essential! Posted by: from: on This werewolf movie is essential in any horror movie collection. It measured up there with the top werewolf movies such as classic wolfman or the howling. It is also very gruesome and humerous!
