One of the funniest movies ever Posted by: from: on The first time you see it, you probably wont find it that funny. Watch it over and over though, and you discover the layers of jokes you missed. EVERY single line spoken by Steve Carell in this movie made me laugh, truly one of the funniest movies ever made, and worth owning on Blu ray. Best Comedy of the 2000-2010 decade in my opinion

finally!!! Posted by: from: San Ramon, CA on anchorman is one of the best comedies to come out and it is by far Will Farrell's best movie. I personally have been waiting a very long time for this movie to come out on blu ray and could not be happier to finally see it arrive.

Great idea, poorly packaged. Posted by: from: Ohio on This is a great movie if you're a fan of absurdist comedy. I was really excited to own it on blu-ray, and especially with all the extras of this "Rich Mahogany" Edition. I was pretty disappointed when I discovered that all the extra materials were contained in the most poorly conceived packaging concept I've seen in recent memory. There is a sleeve to accomodate the blu-ray jewel case, but it is too loose so the movie falls out easily. The bonus materials (the trading cards, and booklet of Ron Burgundy's "diary") are actually packaged in the sleeve also, which was poorly made and ripped as soon as I tried to open it. And by the way, the diary is funny, but it's not necessarily something I couldn't do without. As a collector this is still a great addition to my home video library, and I do still recommend it for the contents of the disc itself. The special features are great as well! I just wish someone would have cared enough to design a package that was worthy of its contents instead of piecing something together on the quick to take advantage of the sequel release in theaters.

Good Movie, Amazing Blu-Ray Posted by: from: Los Angeles on I'm one of the few people who think that Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is very overrated. That said, I can take it for what it is enjoy it every once in a while. What drives this movie are the characters, and the cast. There is so much improv that it's hard to tell what's scripted and what's off the top of their heads, but keeping that in mind makes it easier to brush off the missed jokes. Trust me, despite what fanboys say, there are missed jokes. This movie has the maturity level of a middle school kid. Fortunately, the hit:miss ratio leans more towards the hit side though. I have to say that the Theatrical version is the best way to go. Will Ferrell is one of my favorite comedians since his days on SNL. Steve Carrell has earned his place on that list as well with his role on The Office. Paul Rudd is getting there, and honestly David Koechner plays the same character all the time. I think Christina Applegate was good in her role too. What I love most about this movie are the endless cameos. Possible spoiler, but we get Jack Black, Seth Rogen, Ben Stiller, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Fred Amisen, and best of Danny Trejo. The cameos are awesome. As for the Blu-Ray disc itself. It's a great buy. The extra content is unbeatable. This thing is really loaded with features. Not only do you get extra content on the discs, but tangible stuff as well. It comes with "The Many Months Of Ron Burgundy", which is an interesting little book loaded with stupid notes Ron wrote to remind himself. I laughed a couple times, but not much. It's more of a keepsake anyway. The other thing is a pack of cards (that I will never open). I think it's ten cards. Each card is for one character, and it has their info on the back. The discs themselves are stuffed. I won't list everything because you can look it up, but I highly recommend this Blu-Ray set. Not just for the movie itself, but the whole package. The Movie I'd give a 3/5 The Video a 3.5/5 The Audio a 4/5 The Extras a 6/5, if I could.

A classy Blu! Posted by: from: Chicago, IL on This Blu was a pleasant surprise. A very good, film-like presentation and better-than-average audio (especially for a comedy). The supplements are great, too.

Makes an already great movie even greater Posted by: from: NY on If you're reading this review, that might mean there's a slight chance you haven't seen Anchorman. If not, stop reading this and go buy the Rich Mahogany edition now. Then, go home, watch it a dozen times in the next week, and report back. It has Anchorman, one of the funniest movies of all time, along with Wake Up, Ron Burgundy, an entirely new movie made up of alternate takes and unused footage, it includes entire plotlines absent from the regular movie, and a ridiculous amount of extras. Even if you've watched Anchorman 50 times and own the DVD, this blu-ray is worth a re-up, there's no just much besides the movie. It might even include

Extras galore with Alternate movie Posted by: from: Chicago, IL on I recently bought a blu-ray dvd of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy *Rich Mahogany Edition specifically because it is blu-ray and has top quality sound and picture and more so over because it has an alternate version of the movie that I also had called "Wake-Up Ron Burgundy" that has quite a bit of the same footage but with so much deleted or unused footage they were able to make another movie out the extra stuff. I enjoyed the alternate version so much I thought it to be good and well worth it to re-purchase it on the blu-ray dvd format and packaged nicely in one dual disc packaging.

All the Ron Burgundy You Didn't Know You Needed Posted by: from: Madison, WI on All Adam McKay and Will Ferrell team-ups (besides the flawless "The Other Guys") need multiple viewings to truly appreciate. You should keep that in mind if wish to purchase this if you have never seen it before. Otherwise, buy with confidence. All three versions of the film (truth be told , the "Director's Cut" only adds more F-Bombs and an unneeded scene) and some fun features are included. Also included is Ron Burgandy's datebook (with some hilarious notes and a few duds).
