Best bootleg series yet Posted by: from: Longview, TX on This is comes from the era of Bob Dylan's career that most people sort of gave up on him. He had realed self portrait and new morning pretty close together. Self portrait was heavily scorned by critics as being some of bob's worst work. Here 40 years later we beg to differ. This is some out takes, alternate cuts and unreleased music from this controversial time. The music is raw and real and I just can't imagine why the critics didn't like it then. Rest assured they love it now.

unexpected pleasure Posted by: from: Johnson City TN on Years ago, I vowed not to buy more Dylan as I already owned the complete catalog. I am delighted that I changed my mind. While decades old now, this music is fresh and raw and may well be Dylan at his best. The accompanying booklet in this set was insightful and contained some great photographs.

Intesting but not as interesting as I thought... Posted by: from: Reston, Va. on Sometimes its best leave what's in the archive, in the archive. The story behind the album is interesting but I don't think the various versions of the songs quite live up to all the hype. For the completest collector.

Great Dylan Fan Posted by: from: orange ct. on Always Loved Bob Dylan. Comes with book that has great photos and info on song history. I loved reading about the musicians recollections on the songs that were recorded and the things that were going on at that time.

Excellent Posted by: from: Los Angeles, CA on This is one of the most underrated periods in Dylan's career, and this album is definitely worth it. There are a number of excellent alternate takes and a couple of unreleased tunes that are simply excellent.
