Best Buy Customer Reviews

I was skeptical about the brand and monitor for about a year. When it dropped down to $150 during President's Day weekend, I had to jump on it.
(For reference, my previous monitor was a 2008-2009 Samsung 24" 1080p LCD Syncmaster which still looks better than most monitors today.)
I've only had this monitor for a day. Out of the box, the picture settings were horrendous. Washed out colors and virtually no black levels. After a few tweaks within the monitor's OSD settings, the colors were still not to my liking. Then I discovered my graphics card has a setting called "Nvidia Vibrance" which enhances color and darkens blacks. After a few tweaks, this monitor stood out! Blacks are deep and colors are vibrant. Out of the box, my set has no dead pixels but horrible flashlighting (backlight is visible on the edges of screen where bezel is on too tight). 1080p content on this monitor looks great, anything lower than that (1080i/720p) looks awful. Text is nice and sharp.
Overall, this is a great monitor for doing papers and playing games in 1080p. Just please have the patience to tweak the settings before writing it off like I almost did.

Cheap score, only if you want a big screen!

I just bought this monitor to replace my 21 inch Samsung TOC monitor. I had never heard of this brand before, but that could be my ignorance but the price was right and so was the screen size, so I jumped the gun.
Upon setting it up (easy assembly), I noticed that the monitor is super bright. The buttons are a little hard to work through but you will only have to do it once.
I then launched a soccer game called Fifa 2014 and the grass looked less greener than my 21 inch monitor. I am hopeful that after some warm up and color adjustment, I should be able to get the kind of picture I want on it, but I would say that the display is decent but not great. This is accentuated by the fact that it is 1080p. They claim that the output response time is 2 ms GTG and that is supposed to be super fast, but I am unaware of what the input lag is, and if this super fast output response time is actually going to make any difference.
Overall, if you only care about the screen size and want a decent display, go with this for under $200 in July 2014. You can't go wrong. But do ensure you have no dead pixels. If you do, return it right away.

Excellent Product !!!

I have 7 27" led monitors, 3 ViewSonic top of the line 1 ms monitors, 2 top of the line Asus 2 ms monitors, 1 Samsung 1 ms monitor and this AOC 27" 2 ms led monitor. This AOC by far having the clearest, sharpest and most outstanding color of any of my other led monitors. Also, this monitor has 1- VGA, 1- DVI and 2- HDMI connections. Good
luck finding such an EXCELLENT led monitor such as this one with this many connections. This monitor should have a price tag of nothing less
than $399.99 not $249.99. Also I might add, when using a 27" monitor you will only get a top notch picture if your computer has a mid to high end graphics card... of which all of my computers have the GTX 660 graphics cards.

Good all purpose monitor

For the price this is a good monitor. Here are some things I learned from set up. The Imenu software works. Even though you pick English for install it will come up in Chinese or something. Click one time then one more time on the globe/gear tab in the imenu software. Then you can set English language from the pull down menu -program language. Another tip using the Imenu software. Click on bright frame tab ( box with a smaller box in the corner ) and use these settings brightness 24 contrast 36 frame size 100 and you'll have a vibrant picture. What worked the best for me was using NVidia control panel settings as the set up I was able to get a really nice picture better than using Imenu or the set up buttons on the monitor.
Happy with my purchase.

Not a good monitor
Posted by: Monitor from: on
The set-up was very easy, the cost was low, the picture was nice BUT it only worked for two weeks before the signal went out. Returned to the store and BEST Buy would not honor a return with my receipt. Only issued me a credit because their system said I had to make all returns directly to the manufacturer. Oh WOW!

Good value HD monitor, controls not user-friendly
Posted by: Bruce from: on
Purchased this to go with a new Windows 10 system for my wife. Resolution is good (HD, 1920x1080), color is good.
Side by side with my 7-year-old Dell 1920x1200 monitor, it was not as bright, until I discovered "Picture Boost" in the control menus. This feature is not well explained, but seems to allow a rectangular portion of the screen to be boosted to be brighter or higher in contrast, and the rectangle can be expanded to the entire screen. Perhaps meant for PIP? Also, when completely "black", it isn't -- more like a charcoal grey.
The control buttons are on the bottom edge of the screen, and it is impossible to see an labels. I ended up making up a label strip and taping it to the bottom border just above the control buttons.
These are fairly minor complaints. After about a month of use, the monitor has served well. I appreciate the built-in speakers which, though hardly high fidelity, avoids the expense and clutter of external speakers. And the sound is much better than that on a tablet and small laptop that I also own.

Bought this monitor around mid July 2014 from Best Buy.
1st week of January 2015 the monitor started producing white screens and blank screens. February 2015 the monitor would hardly work at all.
I contacted AOC via website and was directed to a service center for RMA process. UPS was the recommended carrier by the service center, UPS wanted $200.00 to ship the monitor via 2 day so I chose the week+ shipping at $50.00 (my cost).
The service center had the monitor for a week approximately, then emailed me a UPS tracking number. I requested it be held for pickup at UPS hub.
I arrived at UPS hub to pickup package, the box had not one piece of tape affixed to secure the box for shipping. The box was open and "flapping". I took the box home, opened it to find a new replacement monitor with a scratch on the upper left portion of the screen.
I emailed the service center twice, over a week ago, no response. I emailed AOC via their website email structure, over a week ago, no response.
The faulty monitor i shipped in for RMA was in brand new condition with the wrap still protecting the screen edges and stand. Mind you, I thoroughly taped each side of the box for shipment across the country. The defective unit was about 6 months old.
The service center sent a replacement unit with a scratch on the screen, staring straight at my face, every time I use it. My OCD is getting the better of me at this point.
I'm highly disappointed and will never buy a AOC product again.
Just my experience.

Great buy for the price

I purchased an AOC for my home office a month or so back and was very happy with it so I bought another 27" (this one) for my office computer. If you've not tried 27" yet then you're missing out on so much more space! No matter which 27" you choose, choose it! (The original 27" AOC I purchased for my home office was no longer sold so I bought this one for approx the same money). As far as brightness, clarity, & color, this one will compete with any of the higher-priced monitors whose names begin with "S". I have many 22-inch "S" named monitors and they're great but the 27" of those brands is ridiculously priced. This one is 1080p so any YouTube I come across is theater-sized on my desktop! Bottom line: for the money, you can't beat this AOC. It is a bit heavy, but compared to the old CRT monitors, it's a feather. It also isn't jammed w/ features, but I actually like that about it- simple.

Excellent computer monitor for League Of Legends
Posted by: autumnmayhem from: on
After many reviews from Best Buy and Amazon, I decided to go with this monitor because of the 27 inch screen size, which from what I have read is the lowest size for a solid gaming monitor; the low ms rate, which is essential; and just from the reviews themselves, and this monitor has not let me down in the slightest.
I use this mainly for League of Legends, and I can already see a big difference in gameplay. The larger screensize, combined with its low ms rate and its excellent resolution, has been a huge help. I also use it occasionally for X-Box One and all the games look wonderful on it.
There are speakers on the monitor, so that's a plus, and they work great. Absolutely no complaints there. It's just a solid gaming monitor and I love it.

Beauty in simplicity
Posted by: nismotyler from: Memphis, TN on
I got this monitor on sale and WOW what a steal! 2ms response time is PERFECT for hardcore gaming. Even though it's 27" it is still very light weight without any quality loss. Very easy to set up because the monitor snaps in to the base plate without any hardware at all. Features all the inputs you could want including 3.5mm output to hook up nice speakers. I know there are monitors out there now with virtually no "border" around the screen so I marked Design as 4/5 but honestly there's nothing wrong with this design. It's simple and features EVERYTHING you need for a gaming-good time. Even at the regular price it's worth it.
