Awesome!!! Posted by: from: on So glad I made this purchase...takes learning a new Operating system when coming from Windows but not hard, there are tutorials to help you along the way and after all its wakes the brain up when you challenge yourself to learn new things. The 27" is big and I did find i was having to look up which bothered my neck and read other reviews that mention the same thing, so a desk thats sits a few inches lower than 30" would be ideal or choosing a swing arm attachment, heads up if ordering let them know you want this option otherwise you can buy an aftermarket arm but the stand is not removable at that point.....still very happy its a slim, sleek and sexy computer and unlike the other screen size you can upgrade the memory yourself ...super easy..there is a cut out just for this. Peforms flawlessly and fast love the wireless mouse and keyboard (rechargeable) no batteries needed and holds a charge forever...this new mouse has more features than previous model...Apple does not disappoint!!

Great System Posted by: from: on The 27k retina display is an excellent computer. The visual is stunning, and entire system runs smoothly. I got it on sale ($1600 total for new edition) and it was a great buy. Just one thing, it is not as fast as my macpro with flash drive. Flash drive is instant, the standard model I got is decent, a thirty seconds boot up, about ten seconds for apps, but if you want very quick speed, opt for flash or fusion. For me, it was not worth the extra $500-700 (cause those were not on sale), but if you're paying full price, and you want immediate boot up, it may be worth it to you to pay an extra 200. Overall, though, the 27k in any variant is stunning. Very much an upgrade from the Dell I had.

My first mac Posted by: from: on My laptop (with OS Win 7 ultimate) recently became unusable. I've upgraded and repaired it many many times, and suppose I could do so again. It's possibly the lcd inverter. I loved Win 7 Ult. I have a small tablet with Win 8 - now Win 10. I hate everything about Windows 10, and I'm totally over Windows. I recently repaired Macs for two friends, even though I knew little about them, but greatly enjoyed working on them and using them. I decided to buy a Mac for myself, and after a bit of research, chose the 27" iMac with the 5K display, 8 Gbs ram and a 1 TB drive. I plan on replacing the 1 Tb drive with a 2 TB SSD that I have. I love everything about the Mac, though it'll take a little to get accustomed to the change. The 5k display is incredible and vibrant. I would highly recommend this computer.

Excellent and powerful Posted by: from: on I debated between this and a MacBook Pro, got the iMac because of pricing and screen size eventually outweighed the pros of having a mobile computer. I am definitely satisfied with the decision! This computer is awesome, the screen size (27") does not disappoint!

Love my iMac Posted by: from: on I just bought a 27 inch iMac w/Retina display. I've owned a number of PC computers over the years but they don't come close to the two Apple iMac I have owned. It was a mistake to drop the optical reader though. If you use a Parallels Windows interface you will have to buy an external CD/DVD drive to install your PC software. My latest iMac runs very cool, so I expect it will have a much better chance for a longer life than the last generation.

Love the big screen! Posted by: from: on I bought this computer to be able to have a better FaceTime experience with my family. They live on the other side of the world from me and I rely on FaceTime to stay in touch. I have used apple products for years, but only iPads and iPods. This is my first Mac. It is taking a bit of time to learn to use it after so many years of PC use, but that screen and FaceTime are excellent! It is like my family is near life size!

Over Priced but Needed Posted by: from: on I am not overwhelmed by my new purchase. It performs well enough but for the money I would have gone elsewhere if I was not so stuck on apple. After using numerous units for the past five years I am unwilling to reacquaint myself with another product line. The quality is there and the 27" screen is in my opinion necessary. I will say in less than a n hour, thanks to time machine, I was up and working. I do think the quality is very good but not 3X the price of a similar Microsoft unit good. I do feel I now have the new standard in a PC. What I felt it was lacking cost me another three hundred bucks. I feel this unit should either be better packaged or have a lower price. $1,399 maybe. I bought this unit because I did not want to compromise and I do not regret owning it. If you are using a PC professionally, this is your best choose for graphics/video/mixing work otherwise you do not need what this unit brings to the table.

Great for Multimedia software Posted by: from: on Purchase this computer to run a powerful multimedia software in our church. The display is sharp and large enough for multiple windows as well as the speed. No problems with hesitation playing video and worship loops. Loads Bible verses and songs with motion background very fast. Also has the option for connecting a second display if needed. I would highly recommend this computer if you are running multimedia software in your church. We are enjoying this computer.

Great purchase, awesome service. Posted by: from: on This was to replace an older 27" iMac. The retina display is outstanding, it is so quiet and thin, I have extra space on my desk. Transferring my old desktop was a cinch using Migration Assistant. Since the old iMac didn't have the thunderbolt port, I though I was stuck with the standard wireless migration, thankfully I was able to use the ethernet to ethernet option, it really reduced the time it took. The new Keyboard and magic mouse are all rechargeable via lighting port, yea! no more AA battery change outs. I had been reviewing places to purchase and settled on Best Buy because they had it in stock and was cheaper than apple was selling it for. So painless, I walked in and asked for the iMac and was out in less than 30 minutes, and that is how a coordinated successful purchase is done.

Great product, exceptional graphics, no innovation Posted by: from: Bloomington, IN on I purchased this iMac to replace my late 2009 model. Pros: I still love the intuitive apple products; the screen resolution is exceptional; the transfer of data via Ethernet cable from my old imac to this one was seamless. Cons: with the exception of a quicker processing speed, there are no great innovations or significantly new features on this model manufactured 6 years later. Also, there is no CD port, so I can not burn photos on a CD.
