Best Buy Customer Reviews

I finally made the purchase! Very pleased! Posted by: from: on After 1 year of researching, I finally purchased the 27 inch, 2 tb, iMac. I capitalized on the 400 dollars off from a price match. Priority of why I purchased this iMac, 1) large clear screen to enjoy and use for photo/video editing... Web surfing too! 2) large SSD to augment the 2 tb disk drive (fusion). I did not want to get the smaller, anemic SSD with the 1tb fusion drive and regret it later. I'm sure it is a good system though. 3) large 2tb drive for storage in the future. 4) good graphics card to work with video and photography editing. I have installed MS office. This purchase fully transitioins me from Windows to Mac. I have the iphone, and the iPad for portability. Now I have a powerful computer to use at home when I need to spend some time getting a lot of work done. I have everything I need. I'm very, very happy I finally made the jump to a Mac. Good bye Windows. Hello Simple! JV

Stop Looking and Buy Posted by: from: on This is the best computer to buy hands down. I upgraded from my MAC desktop from 12 years ago. I loved that one but could not imagine how much the new one is improved. Seriously, if you are like me you read all of the reviews and ratings, look at the other desk top computer brands and try to justify buying another brand, then you wise up and realize that this MAC is really the only choice you should make! Hope you enjoy your purchase as much as I am.

It's an Apple product so... Posted by: from: on You know what you are getting when you buy an Apple product. I purposely bought the 2TB hard drive because it came with a much larger portion of flash than the 1TB. I believe it was 128GB of flash with the 2TB and only 24GB of flash with the 1TB. Performs amazingly well. I had my last iMac for 8 years and it wasn't even one of the higher end ones. Plus I only got rid of it to upgrade to this one (and I got $174 in trade in value through Best Buy). If you have the money I strongly believe, at least from my experiences, that Apple products are great investments. The higher up front costs are recouped through the long life of the products.

At a lost for words...AMAZING Posted by: from: on This computer is amazing. I had a 2009 model iMac. This screen will blow you away. A straight beauty!! So fast until it's ridiculous. Bestbuy made this a pleasurable buying experience. Apple dropped the ball and pushed order dates out. Called Best Buy Columbus Ga and they had one on hand. They couldn't hold it for me. I was there in 20 minutes and the manager had already pulled and it took less than 5 minutes from the time I walked into the store for the purchase to be complete. SIMPLY THE BEST COMPUTER EVER & MY BEST BUY COLUMBUS GA ROCKS!

incredible for photographers Posted by: from: Fort collins, co on I recently got my fully loaded Imac. The screen is unbelievably detailed and beautiful. This is among the very best you can get for a good professional photography workflow. If your camera is 14.7 megapixel than you can view the entire photo's detail on screen! I'm also impressed at how well it runs games. It's overkill, but you can play Dirt 3 at the full 5k resolution at a playable frame rate. You're better off running a lower res and getting a blistering frame rate, but it can be done. Buy through mac and upgrade the ram and graphics card at the very least.

Amazing... just amazing Posted by: from: on You get what you pay for. Although it was the most expensive version sold in Best Buy it was worth every penny. I did pick it up during a sale so I got a few hundred off (still cost over 2 grand). Opted for the 2TB fusion drive because it still comes with a large portion of flash drive. The 1TB come with a smaller portion of flash. This is the quickest computer I have ever owned. It literally starts up in seconds from being completely turned off. I could not be happier (well unless it dispensed money).

Stunning design and function Posted by: from: on As it stands, the screen is the most impressive part of this machine. The 5K resolution is amazing, and the color depth and quality is worth the cost. I had to decide if I wanted to forgo the I7 chip because I'm a developer by trade. But the I5 packs a solid punch and has tolerated everything I've needed to push at it. I did upgrade the memory to 32 GB, but that was cheap considering if I let Apple supply it.

Great 5K iMac with New Peripherals Posted by: from: on I traded the new Mac Mini in for this because the Mini couldn't handle the video editing I needed and the RAM wasn't configurable. If you are a PC user looking at this review, please do yourself a favor and just break down and purchase this iMac. OS X operates WAY more efficiently than anything that Microsoft will put out. Because Microsoft only controls the software and not the hardware, there is no way that they can predict how their OS will react to the multiple hardware setups that PC manufacturers. That's why there is so much bloatware and Windows has issues when installing programs. With Macs, the OS runs super smooth and everything works as it should, day in and day out. Even the backup process is so transparent. I use a Time Capsule and I barely notice any decreases in performance when it's backing up. You can use the Time Machine to just select a backup you wish to go to and it's done. Pros: - 5K Display - Dedicated Graphics - New Apple Peripherals Cons: - None Buy now!

Almost typical Apple MAC Posted by: from: on Upgraded from a circa 2008 MAC which was absolutely perfect. This new MAC is perhaps purchased a bit too soon as we run into issues with the OS10.11 El Capitan. No drivers for the Dell laser printer. Some sites work OK with Safari others Firefox. The slight differences in the new op system take some getting use to. The keyboard without a numeric pad isn't great and the mouse doesn't fit our preferences.

27 IMac makes working on the computer fun Posted by: from: on I've been switching slowly from PC to Apple via my iphone and my husband's macbook pro. I just took the dive off the deep end with this computer. The screen is ridiculously amazing with crazy depth and saturated yet realistic color, fantastic for my professional landscape photography and for crafting gorgeous presentations. The large storage is great for all my photos and presentations (over 30K photo library) and also since i'm old-school and paranoid so not a fan of remote (cloud) storage, i prefer backing up at home with my own hard drive. I'm still learning old and new tricks but it has been a sensual pleasure with the visual rewards so instant and incredible. I also love the sleek all-in-one look and no wires and tiny keyboard and yes, mouse. No touch screen when you love what you see in all its detail and glory--no oily dirty fingerprints on this screen! So to all slaves to beauty, both in terms of screen display, and in terms of product, have at it. I am so glad i took the plunge--working with my own photography and seeing images of all sorts from the web--is a revelation and a joyride with this computer.
