Great product Posted by: from: Corpus Christi, Tx on Apple always amazes me, even though there are many people out there that claim Apple products do not give people way to customize. Well there is a reason why you can't customize and that is because they are concerned with safety. Which I do love that fact. I had to replace my 2009 MacBook Pro because the wi-fi card started to give out (Boo) but I do like this MacBook pro, because it is: Light weight Battery life is great The Retina display is awesome It starts up quick The speakers are amazing Now I got this at a great price, because I am a college student. It can be pricey but you get what you pay for. That is my motto.

The best laptop out there Posted by: from: on I bought this to replace my 2010 MacBook Pro. That computer was my first Mac and it gave me 6 years before it started acting up. I used to share it with my ex-girlfriend and the hard drive was probably bogged down by the 50,000 divorce documents she saved to it. It probably could have been fixed, but I wanted something smaller. My original intent was to get the new MacBook. It's super light, looks cool, and comes in jivey colors. I thought I'd be the cock of the walk rolling into client meetings with a gold laptop. Unfortunately, Best Buy was out of stock in that one for 100 miles. The local Apple Store had it, but I have a Best Buy credit card. I had to finance this bad boy in anticipation of a lottery win within the next 12 months. The out of stock situation worked to my benefit. I decided to go with another pro. It was on sale, and since it actually has ports, it was the same price as the MacBook by the time you buy necessary adapters. It's not as light as the MacBook, but I've been hitting the gym lately, so the extra pound is manageable. it's still much lighter than my previous MacBook Pro. It's advantages over the MacBook more than make up for the lack of jivey colors. It actually has ports. It's processor is much faster. If I decide I want to switch careers and become a Hollywood film director, I won't need to buy another computer to edit my movies. It won't draw the eyes of the ladies while I'm sitting at the US Air terminal or Starbucks like the gold MacBook would, but my charming personality should more than make up for that. It just works, and isn't prone to the viruses that my PCs used to get with my questionable browsing history. 2 1/2 thumbs up.

Great durable laptop and easy to use! Posted by: from: New Hampshire on We looked at many PC's and still came back to the MacBook Pro; this was mainly due to the durability and ease of use of the laptop. It was for my daughter who had a Toshiba laptop prior and she was very hard on that laptop (she did not treat the system poorly), the plastic casing started to split, and the keypad/board had lifted and had to be taped down, finally when the screen cracked she had to replace it. So first priority was a solid unit that was built well and easy to use. I would have given this MacBook system 5 stars, but Apple is very UNKIND on its pricing (EXPENSIVE!!). It is not competitive with HP or the Surface PC laptops, that will offer 4X's the features for less money. But my daughter has an iPhone and the attraction of it being the same brand and quality is why Apple’s MacBook Pro won her over. I would not have chosen this system for myself; however, I still have to give it a good rating for what it is.

Best Laptop for Price and is a Workhorse! Posted by: from: Michigan on The Macbook Pro 13 (Early 2015 Model) is lightning fast. The new touchpad is extremely easy to use and has a very unique feel to it with the Taptic feedback settings. You can now push harder on the touchpad and it acts as a new click (3 finger gesture control was the same). You will get an extra 1 hour of battery life from this version and the 2014 model (I tested to confirm). The screen has the same brightness (around 300 nits). The SSD card read and write times have doubled from last year. The memory is faster at 1867 MHz and the Graphics is a new Intel Iris 6100 using 1.5MB of RAM. If you have a 2014 model this might not be the greatest update for you but if you have the 2013 or older this is a huge upgrade and easily worth the money. If you are on a budget but need a work horse and you like the Mac OS then you could also consider the 2014 model since it is now $150 cheaper. You can also do some gaming on this and if you have a Steam account you can also stream from another Mac or PC to this laptop with no problem. This will be the laptop I get my son when he leaves for college in the fall. I was going to get the Macbook Air for him but since the battery is now just as long on the Macbook Pro and the extra power, it's the right choice.

Always a safe bet to get a Mac. Posted by: from: on I purchased this because my old 15" Macbook is now 6 years old and the hard drive was getting full and I wanted something a little smaller for travel. It was so easy to transfer everything over from my old one to my new one; I didn't even have to connect the two although that would have made it faster. On the downside, there is no optical drive on the new Macbook. I didn't realize that until I went looking for it when I wanted to burn a CD. I will have to buy an external optical drive which isn't a huge deal considering how infrequently one uses those anymore. But if you want to watch movies regularly from a DVD, you should consider that. Also, I do not like the new "Photos" software which replaces iPhoto. iPhoto is way better and luckily I didn't make the mistake of updating Yosemite to 10.2.3 or I would have lost it. If you update to Yosemite 10.2.3, be warned that your iPhoto will be replaced with Photos. I am going to use 10.2.2 for as long as possible to avoid this. I made the mistake of updating to 10.2.3 on my old Macbook and now I have to use Photos on that computer and it is awful compared to iPhoto. I am a photographer so this is a big issue for me. They removed a lot of the editing features that I frequently used, in the new software and I really hate it. Other than that I am very happy with this new Macbook.

For anyone young and old... Posted by: from: on Bought an hp and although it was fine my heart still wanted a Mac. After having the hp for 60 days, Best Buy gave me a full refund on it and heart be wish came true and I bought the MacBook Pro! It is the greatest. I would recommend this laptop to everyone and the my apple care support is the best. Best Buy is awesome and helped me so much. I will never buy anywhere else!

My First Mac Posted by: from: Duluth, MN on I haven't used a Mac to any significant degree since high school. After considering it for about a year I finally decided to buy a MacBook Pro with some of my tax refund. After considerable consideration I settled on this model because of the size and hard drive (I have a large music collection so I needed the space). I really like the size and feel of this device, and while it goes against my initial feelings, it turns out having to use an external CD drive isn't so bad. I love the screen and the feel of the backlit keyboard. The SSD makes everything run very fast. The Mag safe 2 connector for charging is genius! There are really only a few things I don't like: 1. It only has 2 USB ports (though both are 3.0 ports) and they are on opposite sides so if you need to plug in a peripheral (such as the Pioneer BluRay drive I have ben eyeing and the external CD drive I already owned) you need to use a bulky and awkward USB extension cable. 2. It does not support USB C. The new smaller MacBooks do, why doesn't the PRO device? 3. I would have really liked to get the 1gb SSD and/or 16gb or RAM, sadly those upgrades cant be bought off the shelf and you have to order from Apple. I don't have a credit card or a local Apple store so that's complicated. And since everything is soldered to the board, I can't have those upgrades done after the purchase. Fortunately I don't really need either upgrade for my use, but it would have been nice to future proof this thing. 4. The speakers, while not bad, could be better. But overall it's a great device and well worth the money.

Best Computer Purchase Posted by: from: on I did a lot of research on Mac's before making the decision to purchase my first one. Since I have trouble buying anything that's not top of the line, I originally made the decision to purchase the MacBook Pro with the larger display. When I went in to the store, I quickly realized the Mac Pro with the 13 inch screen was the best option. It's light enough to carry and the perfect size to carry everywhere with me. Wonderful graphics and great processor. Highly recommend.

Great laptop, hands down. Posted by: from: on I have an iPhone, iPad, iPod and now a MacBook Pro. I am, once again, impressed with Apple and the quality that their products have. I have always had Windows computers, but from now on I will use Mac. I only wish I switched over years ago.
