Prefer battery apple mouse Posted by: from: on I have the original magic mouse for my Mac desk top computer, but I wanted one for my laptop since it's so much easier than using the track pad. Since the Magic mouse 2 is available, I chose that option and thought how much nicer it would be not to have to change the batteries out every 2 months. However, this magic mouse 2 is dead every time I go to use my laptop, which I only used for 15 minutes on the last charge. You HAVE to remember to turn off the mouse otherwise even though it is not in use, it will die. I use the battery version (original magic mouse) on my desktop work computer everyday for at least 8 hours and NEVER turn off my mouse. Batteries only need replacing after 2 months. So you decide what is more convenient. For me, the batteries are more reliable!

Works amazingly! Posted by: from: on People with low reviews apparently did not read up on the product OR didn't ask the people at the store about it. Associates should know enough about the product, if not be well versed in trying to go to the apple site to view reviews about this thing as well as anything Apple related. Bought the mouse knowing well that it will work great on my MacBook Pro Retina 13.3" (early 2015) and no issues whatsoever. The gestures on the mouse worked great. I have even attempted to connect it to my gaming laptop (ASUS g73jw) and even works great on it. So the people that have given this thing any low review apparently haven't done anything to review before their purchase. Congrats to them on not researching their stuff before buying! If anything guys, it is a good buy but do keep in mind, it is aesthetics, you DON'T have to have this item for your Mac at all. You can use a normal 10 dollar clearance logitech mouse and it will work just fine if you don't want to spend a "ton" of money.

Over Priced and Over Rated Posted by: from: Patchogue on I was forced to buy a replacement for the Mouse that came with my Mac when my old one stopped working one day. When I went into Best Buy my jaw dropped on the floor when they told me it was $80! So I bought it, but also picked up a Logitech for $12 on sale to see if it would work (or if it would be compatible) Not only was Logitech way cheaper, but it worked immediately within seconds and was so comfortable in my hand while using. While the $80 Apple mouse is sleek and nice looking, but the Apple mouse was not comfortable in comparison. AND the Worst part was after spending $80 for an Apple mouse for an Apple computer, one would think that it would work immediately... NOT the case! I had to read the directions to figure it out and took @ 5 minutes to setup with a few steps to complete pairing. The $12 Logitech mouse literally I opened the package, plugged the USB thing in the back, and it worked immediately! So I would NEVER recommend the $80 Apple Magic Mouse unless you are looking for Carpel Tunnel, there are much Better and Cheaper options out there.....

Great Mouse! Posted by: from: on I don't usually come back to a site to write a review but I felt compelled in this case. Glad I made the purchase. Some reviews left me unsure of buying one but glad I tried it out and I love it. I have a MacBook Pro and it connected within seconds of turning it on. The charging port is on the bottom of the mouse, but who cares. I been using it daily for at least 3 weeks and the charge is now at 88%. It charges quickly so no big deal. Love the features that are exclusive to Apple (double tap to Mission Control, swipe capabilities, etc.) I use Finale for music notation and it works great. Occasionally feel some fatigue in my wrist and right finger, but isn't that true of any mouse after a long period of use. Just take a break. The only reason I withhold the 5 star rating is due to the lack of independent settings for the mouse and trackpad. When you change the trackpad settings, the mouse settings are changed and vice versa. But again, no big deal Highly recommend this mouse.

What you expect Posted by: from: on This mouse works exactly like you think it would for being an Apple magic mouse. I'd really brag on its charging capability- I charged it for a few hours the first day and have not needed to plug it in since (a month later and I still have 50% battery at 2-3 hours average daily use.) Bluetooth connection is without a hiccup and easy to initiate (just plug it in to charge.) Function is intuitive and unique features such as a few gesture controls exist. My only negative to this mouse is the price. At $40-50, this item would be beyond worth it. At $80, one starts to question, "Did I really shell out that much cash for a mouse??" (But yes, of course I did.) I would also be interested to see if the mouse ever gets updated with a version of force touch like the track pad now has.

Nice improvements. Posted by: from: on This was a nice upgrade to the original magic mouse. The new battery charges fast and last a very long time. The mouse functions perfectly and you can definitely feel the subtle changes apple has made to the sensitivity of the touch surface on the mouse. This is top tier mouse and you can feel the quality in the elements used to make it in the manufacturing process.

No right click Posted by: from: on As a PC user I'm used to a mouse that right clicks...I haven't figured out how to do things that need to be right clicked on a PC on the MacBook this nifty little mouse is paired with. But the mouse is slick looking - sort of chrome & glass modern, it works well, although it scrolls more like a touchpad than a mouse, still getting used to it. I think it might weigh more than the MacBook ; )

Best Portable mouse for macbook Posted by: from: on I tried several other wireless mice before choosing the Apple. First the scrolling on the Magic Mouse works perfectly with OSX and other mice really don't do it justice. It pairs easily with your MacBook or other bluetooth laptop or PC and it doesn't need a dongle or other connection. It runs on a rechargeable battery and it comes with a charging cord. Highly recommend if you want a Bluetooth mouse for your MacBook.

Good mouse Posted by: from: on As all Mac products I believe that they are great quality. I do think that the mouse is pricy. I guess you get what you pay for. I did have a little problem with MacBook recognizing the mouse at first and I have had one time that it was unresponsive despite being fully charged. A restart of the MacBook took care of the problem. Other than that, I think it works great and I'm glad I don't have to replace batteries.

handy for work Posted by: from: on It is bulky to carry around, but is handy if you need to work for a prolonged time or need to create lengthy documents. The charger is in the middle of the bottom surface, so you cannot charge the mouse while you are working. The mouse will not lay flat if you are charging. It is difficult to tell if it is charged or not, because there is no LED indicator, i.e. green light, that goes on when fully charged or detected by your device.
