Great comic book adaptation Posted by: from: Indianapolis on This show is a great example of how a comic book should be adapted for TV. (Marvel's Agents of SHIELD should really take notice!) Information is trickled out each episode which reveals Ollie's time on the island. It seems that island time in flashbacks is equivalent to how much "current time" has passed (i.e. after the show has been on a year, we will have seen a year on the island, as well). There are some complaints that the character doesn't stay true to the comic book, but if you are patient, things develop. Some developments don't pay off until the second season. The picture looks great, and it comes with an excellent 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. There are a bunch of well-done, in-depth extras that make the set really worth-while.

An Entertaining Series Posted by: from: Mansfield, MA on I have only watched one disc so far, but the Blu Ray plays well in my 4 year old Samsung. While the plot can be somewhat predictable the action scenes are well done and the series holds your attention. The Arrow doesn't take itself too seriously but yet is still engrossing. The acting isn't too bad and the actresses are easy on the eyes. My only beef with the series is the "ya right" factor. For instance the Arrows nemesis, the policeman (Quentin Lance) is after him, but also hates Oliver Queen (his alter ego) because he blames Oliver for the death of his daughter. That's pretty convenient I would say. All in all the episode pass quickly and leave you wanting another.

Green Arrow gets his time to shine! Posted by: from: Texas on Oliver Queen returns to his troubled city after being gone for five years, marooned on a mysterious island, but the man he's become is very different from the philandering playboy who was lost at sea. He now wages war on crime as 'The Vigilant', guided by a notebook kept by his father indicating the criminals who've been profiting off the pain of his city, but he soon finds himself at odds with both his family and the police due to the double life he's leading. Having never followed the comic source material, I have no issues with this incarnation of the character, and I've really enjoyed the way the series has shaped up.

The Dark Knight Meets Smallville Posted by: from: on This series only gets better as it goes on. The first season starts out kind of slow, and the voice-overs done by Oliver/Green Arrow are kind of annoying, but mid way through the first season, the series really starts to find it's footing and also looses the voice overs. This series is probably one of the CWs darker series, and is often compared to the Dark Knight trilogy...so if you like that tone, then this is the show for you. While the series can get kind of "soapy" at times, it is not your typical CW show.

Great Package for a Great Hero Show Posted by: from: Newark, DE on I am on and off with hero-based media. I've been a big fan of DC stuff, but when it comes to live action, there wasn't much beyond Smallville on TV for expansive hero shows. I was surprised with Arrow. It's a slow starter, but it gets really good at the end of this season. And from friends who watch, the show keeps itself consistent and gets stronger in presentation unto the current season. I give this very high marks for surprising me in a good way.

give it a chance Posted by: from: on The first half is rough to get through, but once you do you'll be happy you did. The show does a good job with a dc character not named Batman, Superman, or Wonder woman. Good show over all.

Best new series on television Posted by: from: Hamburg, NY on First, I liked that the Blu-ray comes with DVD copies and especially the UltraViolet copies it comes with. I like the accessibility that UV copies provide, it makes it much easier to watch any episode, including skipping from episode 1 to 10 without having to get up and put in a new disc. The Blu-ray and UV pictures make each episode feel like your in it. Both the show itself and all the elements included with the Blu-ray make this a must buy.

DC gets it right on the small screen with Arrow Posted by: from: Waukesha, WI on There is no doubt that DC has struggled bringing some of its major characters to life on the big screen, however it seems to thrive with the small screen. Arrow is the latest DC property to successfully transition after Smallville, This take on Green Arrow is gritty, well acted and cast, and truly builds a world that is believable. This set features excellent picture and sound quality and a nice assortment of extras. Well worth a purchase!

Excellent Series... Posted by: from: Wichita Falls, TX on Excellent plot, acting, and characters. This show will keep you coming back each episode. A show true to the comic. Even if you're not a fan of the comic you can become of a fan of this show. There is a lot of back and forth in the story-telling. You need to watch in order or you could miss something important in the back story.
