Assassin's Creed 2 surpasses the original Posted by: from: Kuwait on This game is a great leap forward for the series and probably the first time I can truly say I've enjoyed a sequel much more than an original. The story truly continues from where the first game left off, answers the questions from the first game up front and leads you into a new storylne very appropriately, while still leaving you wanting to know more about the story of the character you are playing. The controls are much improved from the first game, the combat is much better and more adaptive than the original, and the side challenges and achievements are actually worth something to your character and the storyline (not just miscellaneous fluff like the flags in the first game).

This is what a video game should be. Posted by: from: TN on This is my first time into this series, I did not play AC1. I decided to get AC2 since the story sounded interesting and everyone said 2 was way better than 1. The graphics are stunning. The cities are enormous. There are enough side missions to keep you occupied for a very long time. Or if you just want to explore the cities causing mayhem along the way, you can do that too. The storyline missions aren't just a run and gun type mission. They take planning. You can't just bust up into the place to assassinate your target and expect to survive long. This is definitely a must have game and I look forward to Revelations coming out soon.

Can't stop playing it! Posted by: from: Chicago, IL on I just bought this game recently and I can't get away from it! I'm a huge fan of "open world" or "sandbox" style video games and this one, for me, stands close to the top!!! I love the story taking place in the late 1400's, it's a time period not usually depicted in video games and the graphic design and gameplay really give you a great and realistic feel of Italy in that time period. The storyline is excellent, great characters, beautifully written with emotional intensity. Of course combat variety really gives the game a powerful edge. And the abilty to free run and explore makes the game more accessable because you don't have to follow the story everytime you play, you can do side mission or explore the land... up to you!!! Overall, excellent game! 5 stars all the way!!! Can't wait for the next one coming soon!!! Highly recommended!

Great Game Posted by: from: on Assassin's Creed 2 is a great game, and its better than anything i thought ubisoft could do. There maybe be some problems with the game in the challenge and length. I say the length because i know alot of people just try to follow the main storyline and don't try to do any of the extra events. I say the challenge because once you get every move down you basically just walk up to someone and their dead in less then a second, which i've played and seen this happen when you get surround by a group of gaurds and then like one swift move and almost everyone is taken out? It makes no sense. But overall this game is great! I would recommend this game to everyone who has an 360 or PS3.

Continues to Exceed My Expectations Posted by: from: Chico, CA on I was not a huge fan of the first Assassin's Creed. They got a lot of things right, but after a while it just seemed like the missions repeated themselves and before long it became kind of a chore to continue playing. So I got rid of it without ever finishing. This game is what Assassin's Creed SHOULD have been. As an independent game designer, I am consistently blown away by the care and attention that every aspect of this game has received. That's not to say that it doesn't have its faults- the opening scene, for example, is boring and unnecessary- but what it gets wrong is NOTHING compared to what it gets right. I wish all games had the polish that this one does. It's a true work of art, and I'd recommend it to anyone- whether you're a fan of the 3rd person sneak-around genre or not, this game is an awesome experience.

mmmmmm Posted by: from: Sioux Falls, SD on my personal number one game of the year, I will play CoD MW2 for a week hardcore, then set it aside to destroy this game, maybe even twice. They have gotten rid of the flags, with is both good and bad IMO, since i still haven't found all of them in the first game, even after 4 play throughs. as far as repetitive, the first really wasn't that bad compared to what some say, but this one has been opened up in so many ways that it will be one big sandbox to get lost in. PS, Ezio can swim, steal weapons and kill with them, grab people while hanging on a ledge and throw them off, use a new barter system to buy weapons and upgrades instead of earn them, and can use a gun, and so much more... did i mention that he is best friends with Leonardo Da Vinci? geepers I am pumped... now I wont be able to sleep tonight because of all the adrenaline... try it for yourself, if you hated the first or heard bad things, give the second one a try, they listened to the customers and revamped it... it will be amazing.

Great game. Way better then the first. Posted by: from: Naperville, IL on This is an excellent game. I like it better then the first. The first was very repetitive and later in the game you could not walk 10 feet before getting attacked by the guards. This time it is so much better. First you can now bring your notoriety down so guards will not attack you all the time. You can rip down wanted posters, bribe heralds, or kill politicians. When you unlock the level in the game you can start to rebuild your family villa. The small town and home looks very dark and dingy when you get there. The more money you get from missions and treasure boxes you can take that money and put it to the up keep of your villa. This is fun to do but it is not going to affect the story if you skip it. The town will start to give you discounts on weapons, armor, etc. It will also start to generate more money for you that you will be able to collect and spend on those things. Finding assassins tombs is fun too. You will find them on the map but have to find the secret entrance and then have to go through the building or tomb to find the resting place of the assassin. Finding all of these will allow you to unlock Altair's armor from the first game. These are just a few of the great things about the game. I recommend picking it up. Just a great story game that I am still working on to finish.

Awesome and Exciting game Posted by: from: New York,NY on I have not purhcased this game yet but, Ih ave played it on my friend's PS3 and it was amazing. I mean the graphics were stunning as well as ezio doing moves such as jumping from building to building and killing guards. It is worth $30.00 and I think this game should be voted game of the year for 2009.
