Worth the purchase Posted by: from: on After a scathing review I wrote of Assassin's Creed Unity as well as the multiple issues the game had, I was cautious about the purchase of this game, but being a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise, I had to give it another shot. I'm glad I did. This game makes up for the vast majority of the shortcomings of its predecessor. Back are the bread-and-butter abilities that made the earlier assassin's creed games so fun to play (see: whistling, which allowed for more granular control of your targets' movements). On top of that, they've refined the parkour system they attempted to revamp in Unity and it is definitely more fluid. The story is pretty good too, including some of the additions of side-quests of well known characters in history such as Charles Darwin, Alexander Graham Bell, and Charles Dickens, among others. That's not to say everything is completely hunky-dory with this release, admittedly there are still a few problems, as I've heard some people having an ACS.exe error that they seem to be unable to recover from. I briefly experienced it but a reinstall worked out the issues I had. All-in-all, however, the game is definitely worth the play. While not as good as Black Flag, it is miles better than Unity was. In terms of the series as a whole, I'd place it as better than both Unity and ACIII, but not quite as good as BF and definitely behind ACII. Maybe about as good as AC Revelations.

Excelent game. Posted by: from: Seabeck, WA on This is an excellent addition to the Assassins Creed game line. And while there will always be areas than can be improved I think this one has the best game mechanics of the series. I love it.
