As a hardcore FPS gamer I am really enjoying this monitor. The screen is good, colors out of the box are better than most TN panels which typically require a lot of tweaking. Response time and Input lag feel similar to my BenQ RL2455HM which is good. The refresh rate is what really makes this monitor special, that being said most people won't notice a difference overclocking above 144hz. (myself included) One of my favorite features of the monitor is the OSD controlled by the joystick, it is like night and day tweaking settings in this monitor compared to my BenQ. Build quality is great, no defects and all features work as described.
My only complaint is that the monitor is overpriced for a 1080p TN panel, although G-Sync does typically add $100 to most monitors.
At the time of this review Best Buy is the only Retailer in the US selling the PG248Q.
Lastly I would like to warn potential buyers that this monitor ships in it's manufacturer packaging increasing the chance of theft. I would be cautious about choosing home delivery.

Don't Be Scared, Just Buy It

My biggest concern with this was the fact that it has a TN panel. As a die hard IPS 60hz guy, I really didn't want to sacrifice my picture quality. After a bit of setup this thing is PHENOMENAL! The colors and contrast are on point! This monitor is a PERFECT match for my GTX 1070 and up, and the G Sync is another outstanding feature that works!!! Seriously, don't let the price steer you away, this WILL be the best gaming experience you can possibly have with a monitor. BUY IT.

Great g-sync monitor
Posted by: ChuggyG from: on
This monitor is for gamers. If you don't game, forget it. Just get a IPS panel.
I've been looking for a 1080p g-sync monitor for awhile. I was hesitant to order from Amazon or New Egg because of the shipping return policy. I basically didn't want to go through the hassle of shipping stuff back if defects were found.
When I heard Best Buy was selling g-sync monitors, I knew this was where I was going to buy one.
My monitor was perfect. I was using an old sony 3d PS3 tv as my monitor before. The leap to g-sync made a big difference. The animation in games are more fluid. I could definitely see more frames. I would get dizzy and noxious after playing Doom for an hour on my old monitor. I did not get any headaches on the Asus Rog even after playing Doom for 3 hours. So G-Sync is definitely worth it for eliminating my headaches alone.
About the 1ms response time, I didn't think it mattered when playing online. I thought ping was king. However, with this monitor, I can tell the difference. When playing WOW with the same ping as before, my actions felt quicker. It just seems magical.
The build quality is excellent.
The only settings I changed to get a good picture from initial settings were:
Brightness - 35
Color Temp - Normal
Turn off DisplayPort Deep Sleep.
Then I used the Windows 10 calibrate display color app afterwards.
This is definitely the best monitor I have ever owned. You will not regret your purchase.

Perfect for any competitive gamer wanting an edge. Once you game at 144hz+ with 1ms gtg response time, 60hz isn't acceptable anymore. Everything seems so responsive and fluid.
Monitor comes with a nice sturdy stand that's very adjustable. Has good appeal as well.
The colors need tweaking out the box. After that the colors aren't washed out. Almost comparable to my IPS panel.
The viewing angles are pretty horrible, but this doesn't effect gaming since your head on with the display.
G-sync is cool and nice for games like witcher and such, but I have it turned off for my competitive gaming to reduce input lag.
I got this monitor on sale for 349.99. The price is a little steep if you can't grab it on sale. I'd still recommend this monitor however.

I used a 1080 GTX for this card, and I must say this is definitely one of the best monitors I've ever used. 1MS, GSNYC, 3d Nvidia 2, and 144HZ is a steal at $349.99. If BestBuy can keep up this price until the end of the year, I'm sure they will sell more for the PC gaming community.

Just got them so far so good
Posted by: Potentialbuyer from: on
So I picked these up earlier today and so far they are pretty great. I have two set up side to side on my desk. The monitors themselves come in the box vertical but can be rotated to a horizontal position. the red led ring around the base is a nice touch though i wish it was rgb so i can match it to my build. As a side note the monitor comes with a power brick and cord as well as Display port cables and HDMI cables.

For anyone buying this monitor for the g-sync and high refresh rate, be warned that these features only work and are enabled via the display port connection and not HDMI. Other than that it is a beautiful monitor and does a great job for gaming in it's native 1920 x 1080 60hz.

An better Acer xb241h that cost a little more.
Posted by: 144hz from: on
To this start off. I used both the Acer xb241h and the Asus pg248q. Panel is basically the same. TN, 1080p, 24 inches, g-sync, and etc. In terms of build quality, Asus hand's down. Pg248q OSD combine with the joystick navigation is superior to the xb241h. The xb241h's OSD was a mess and can become an annoyance.
The only issue on my monitor is that "Light in Motion" does not work. Planning to contact Asus about that.

Very Buttery Smooth

I would recommend this to any gamer that doesn't care for playing in 4k. It's on sale right now. Probably the cheapest GSYNC monitor from a reliable brand.
