Great for people with more than one space Posted by: from: Center Moreland, PA on It works great, allowing us to use it on two separate floors without having to add more wires. The third handset is useful to travel on the floor with the wired base. The wired section allows it work during a power outage.

Very good phone Posted by: from: Ocala, FL on While looking for a phone, I wanted: 2 handsets - check, Intercom feature - check Ease of setup - is Ok, could be easier if the manual explained the menu tree structure up front, I found the button identifiers not intuitive Audio equalizer (tone control) - check, wife is hearing challenged Speaker phone - check, has one button operation, wife wears hearing aids, the speaker phone feature was a must and it works fine Audible caller ID - check, I find it easy to hear and understand, wife does not hear/understand it Available in-store - check Good range - check, of course this depends on one's needs. The furthest I have used it is about 75 feet (inside my neighbors house) Easy to read display - display and text larger than expected, this is obvious if you look at it in the store Surprised the phone visually displays when there is a message on phone service voice mail in addition to phone's answering machine. Most of the time this feature is unnecessary but it has come in handy. This phone has all the features I wanted, and performance meets my expectations. I would recommend this phone to a friend... who wanted the same features I was looking for. I can't speak to the features I don't use. I needed a longer phone cord. Also, the manual with the phone stated you "must" install a DSL filter if you use a DSL modem. I have TV through phone company. Best Buy did not have the filter in my store, found one at Radio Shack.

AT&T failed this time Posted by: from: on I needed another landline phone after a lightning strike to the house fried my existing digital unit. I have used similar phones and models from AT&T for 15-20 years at least, and was typically happy with their product. Not this one though. Right from the start, and noticed both by myself and callers on the other end of the line, the voice clarity and connections were scratchy or static-like, often intermittent, and/or sounded like an echo. The range of use away from the base unit was weak too. Trying to use the touch-tone buttons to connect and navigate through an automated system menu access, such as phone banking, was an exercise in futility. In short, I found out quickly this product was significantly defective. Three days later, I replaced it with a similar phone system from Panasonic, although it does not have a corded base handset as the AT&T unit did. The Panasonic unit is working well as advertised, although the programming on it is much more cumbersome and clunky than it should be, and not intuitive. The old AT&T products I've used were reliable and easy to program and use, but this updated version failed miserably in operational performance and reliability. I rarely write or post comments about anything online, but consumers should be forewarned not to waste their time or money with this model.

AT&T corded and cordless phone and answer machine Posted by: from: on I like the phone that it announces who is calling the pronounciation is off but I can read it too, It works just as it said it would in the instructions I have no problems with the system and it plugs in the cordless sets in any room as long as the base station (corded) is installed. I have noticed the other phones that are not part of this phone set don't ring when this one and its cordless sets do but it works for dialing out and I think it would work if I answer a regular corded princess hand set extension in another room which is not part of this system even if it wont ring with incoming calls the ring of the set is loud enough and one can change the ring sound there are plenty of options to choose from.

Great Low Cost Phone with Extensions Posted by: from: Florida on The phone works great. I didn't need an answering system but it did come in handy before I got free online answering service. The extensions work great. The whole system is easy to program. We can make and receive very clear calls. The wireless phones find the base without any problems even though it is several rooms away! Great buy for a low price.

Limited Landlines Out There Posted by: from: on For those still shopping landlines, you'll find a limited selection out there. Purchased this ATT model based on brand recognition and additional number of cordless extension phones included. Base phone has a nice larger keypad with features relatively easy to operate. Works fine but with the larger keypad, the base phone is wider than most and it wobbles when mounted to the wall using the two "keyhole" slots on the back. These slide onto the wall mounted phone plate screws, however the wall plate pushes the phone away from the wall creating a slight teeter-totter affect left to right. Be ready to add four corner back tabs (shims) to stabilize. Also, if wall-mounted, suggest buying a short phone jack line connector since it is unlikely you will be able to hide both the longer ATT-supplied phone line plus the excess power cord behind the phone. Better yet, place it on a counter. Can recommend and would give higher rating for counter top placement only.

AT&T Expandable Phone System Posted by: from: Masontown, WV on This is an excellent phone system. The Base phone has a large very easy to read screen. The system also allows for additional cordless handsets to be added to the system at anytime. Very easy to use and setup. Highly recommend this unit for houses that experience frequent power outages as the base phone is a corded unit that still operates when the power is out.

Good choice if you still want a corded phone Posted by: from: Rochester Hills, MI on I thought I'd made a big mistake, as the first unit I bought just didn't work right -- I couldn't get a dial tone back after making a call. Fortunately BestBuy has a good return policy, so I exchanged it for another one and it is working flawlessly. This was replacing a very old GE phone and an external caller ID box that were not working so well (unintelligible message playback, etc.), so this product with its large, backlit screen and clear sound is just the ticket. One of the best things about it compared to many other brands is that it comes with a very complete "abridged" user guide that pretty much covers everything you need to know.

Good featured phone with everything I need Posted by: from: on I bought this phone to replace one that required a new $40 battery for the remote unit, this ATT uses replacement batteries that cost only about $9. It works as an old fashioned land line phone, the base working when the power goes out, even though some of the information on this phone says it does not. This was one of the most important features for me. The range is very good and so far works well outside at the extremes of my front and back yards (about 75 ft each way from base unit in house). It has good basic features, I don't need anything too fancy. The sound quality of the message recorder could be a little better, but is best on the highest treble setting, with the lower pitch settings it is a little hard to discern the audio on messages. The earpiece on the landline base is very comfortable also, the Uniden model this replaced was very uncomfortable to use for any length of time and would make my ear go numb; this one is fine. Overall I am happy with this purchase.

System works better than planned Posted by: from: on Corded base station allows for use during power outage, voice announcement of caller I.D. is clear and easy to understand. The remotes battery last longer than expected between recharges. Screen readout on base and remotes is clear and easy to view. The intuitive design of the remote handsets and the base station allow for easy use and setup, the system appears and feels like is is rugged and made of high quality material. The manufacture appears to care about their brand name and still makes a quality produce.
