Love this little phone!!

I've needed a new smartphone for awhile now. I'm really over spending $400- $600 for a non contract phone & I'm not signing another contract again.
With that being said, this led me to AT&T for a better service provider & new cheap phone & plan. This phone packs in a lot of punch for $80. You have a lot of technology loaded on this phone. You can set your unlock code to where you need it to work...anywhere outside my home is perfect. Cool new photo editing effects, an expandable memory up to 128gbs...buy a micro sd memory card, you'll need one. It's small enough for my front or back pockets, but you have a good size screen. Photos I've taken are clear & crisp, much better than I expected. It synced to my car Microsoft sync bluetooth with ease. I can't forget to mention how the battery lasts for a very long time. You can do everything on this phone as any other high dollar Samsung smartphone. In fact I just noticed that this is labeled a Go Phone...i has no idea.
There are a lot more features that I haven't touched base with yet, I've only owned it 6 days so far.
This phone has far exceeded my expectations, my At&t plan is $40 a month with rollover data. So if you're tired of spending a lot of money for a phone, I highly recommend this this little Galaxy!
If you lose it, drown it or drop it...you're NOT out a large amount of money. Best bang for the buck IMHO.

Great smartphone for the price
Posted by: indy18arn from: Indianapolis, IN on
I purchased this smartphone because of the low price and all the good reviews. The only complaints that I have are the amount of RAM is too low, The on board storage is too low, There is no way to automatically install all apps to the SD Card to save the internal storage, and the updates take up too much space. Other then those, it's a great smartphone.

The Little Engine that Can

Android Marshmallow is a major step forward! Easier to use and better on battery life. Very easy to transfer app's to memory card. Size is just right for holding in one hand or fitting in your front pocket. Overall, a very good phone! I call it my Baby Galaxy:)

Surprise! It's a very good phone

This phone surprised me -- very fast responsiveness, expandable microsd slot AND a removable battery. The screen is a just-right size for my fat fingers, but not so huge for my pockets.
Another plus: accessories are easy to find for this model as it shares similar body as previous Galaxy generations.
Call quality is sharp and clear, the back speaker isnt very loud, tho. Does the job. The camera takes nice pics and ok video.
Battery life is pretty good...i get two days talk time and about a week if standby.
Very lightweight. I got the white body version so I can find it on my car's floorboard. Paid fifty for it, it's worth a lot more. Get two and have one for backup!

Why 2 stars? Because it's fair.
Why it's fair?
1. Many people report that they got a problem with the screen and it just happened to me like in 55 days (06/11/2016). I talked with Samsung tech support on Aug 15, 2016. (The reference number for this chat is 4323435382 for samsung.com support). I would like to advise a best buy to remove this phone from the store. Thank you for repair, however I though I'm the one with this problem until I got another one and read some reviews online.
2. Space issue. The phone is 8gb, with ATT apps (nobody use those apps) you get only 3GB space left on your phone. You can't uninstall these apps, but you can disable to prevent updates which decrease your phone space.
What I like about this phone? I like the size, display and it pretty fast enough, good on ram, ram is managed well, you don't need to worry about your ram and go to setting and stop the app you don't use. Good phone in general, affordable price.
However, I would not recommend this phone to my friend. It's very low on space, sd card won't help you if you download apps, you may transfer only pics and videos to make more space for apps.

I go through phones a lot so I purchases android go phones. I bought this one and decided to get a screen protector and case for this one, I had it for 55 days and the screen stopped working. It was never dropped or abused, I made a point to take care of the phone. You can hear the att music when you hold the power button but no display. I tried hard resets, different cables and computers, downloaded samsung kies and tried it, pretty much the first 5 pages of google searches were read. I expected more out of a Samsung, the ASUS go phone I had lasted much, much longer, i just got tired of the cracked screen

I cant for the life of me figure out why someone would spend $700 on a phone when all i had to do was buy a $10 sd card and now my $80 phone has more memory - mine now has 64gb compared to galaxy s6 edge+only having 32 and no card slot - sure the screen is a bit smaller and the phone is only 5 mp instead of 14 but for literally a tenth of he price who cares - i bought it as a go phone but use it with my plan its flawless i would buy tem of these before i wasted money on a note or s6

Doesn't seem like a low-end phone
Posted by: mfrerkes from: Bettendorf, IA on
I really needed a new smartphone for my Tracfone BYOP line, and this model was on sale for $59.99, so I decided to take a chance. After a week of using it, I'm definitely happy with the purchase. The Super AMOLED screen is very vibrant. Obviously, the pixel density is going to be lower on a phone at this price point, but I'm still very impressed with the display. It doesn't seem like a low-end Android device. There's enough processor power for all the basics, and the fact you can expand up to a 128 GB microSD card is really nice. Most phones in this range only allow 32 or 64 GB. I have a rather large music collection that requires lots of storage space. The camera is acceptable, though I don't really take many photos. Some cameras in sub-$200 phones aren't very good at all. This one passes the test. Battery life is reasonable, too. The small form factor is great for those who carry their cell phone in a pocket. It's not bulky at all. The Galaxy Express 3 is an all-around winner for someone who needs a basic smartphone that isn't woefully under-powered.

Good Android Phone
Posted by: Saumlakiguy from: on
This phone has a nice screen and expandable memory via microSD card. But the internal memory of 8GB is limiting, as Google apps, ATT apps, and Microsoft Office apps all want to live there rather than on my external memory card! This often means the phone complains of "no room" to update stuff, even though there is 28GB of free space on my microSD card! (This is bad OS design, where it won't use available space automatically, and bad app design where they don't allow installing to external memory! This is not really the phone's fault.) The phone is not blazingly fast, but adequate. Getting it on sale makes this midrange phone a good deal. (And I had no trouble unlocking the phone through ATT; hopefully this will make it usable wherever I travel overseas.)
