Sonic deliverance! Posted by: from: on I had the pleasure of seeing Sammy Hagar live in concert about 12 years ago. I was not a big fan of his until that concert. He was and still is a superb entertainer. This CD captures that moment and better. The variety of songs are so well performed. This 2 CD set mixes Sammy's solo and Van Halen stuff as well as a few Led Zeppelin tidbits. His band mates are amazing also, with long time guitarist Vic Johnson, bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Jason Bonham

A fun Live album! Posted by: from: Oklahoma City, OK on If you like live albums, this is a great one! A good mix of Sammy Hagar, Van Halen and Zeppelin tunes. The album and group is a collaboration of Sammy Hagar (Voice and Guitar), Jason Bonham (Drums), Vic Johnson (Lead Guitar) and Michael Anthony (Bass). It is a fun album to listen to with a good party atmosphere kind of vibe. Jason, Michael and Vic each have (fun to hear) solos that show off their skills as musicians. It's definitely a good album for the collection, especially if you are a Hagar, Bonham / Zep or Van Halen fan!

Good, but not Great Posted by: from: on I am a huge fan of Sammy's from long back, even before his HSAS super group day(s). I wore that cassette out. But after Montrose. I discovered his Standing Hampton album, and it was a revelation. But, I love that he takes chances, such as with the Circle on this 2 cd live performance. It's really good most of the time. But, I don't love having my cd cranked up and hearing people drop the f bomb multiple times while driving with the wife or other relatives. I mean, if you're recording it to sell, why? It limits your appeal and turns off some of your fans. Anyway, really good stuff on this. But I wouldn't put it among his best. I dug both Chickenfoot albums more than this one. But they was filled with original content. Coincidence? I'm not sure. Still, it jams; the band really gives it their all. And I really dig Michael Anthony, as well.

Sammy and Mike still got it!!! Posted by: from: on Having seen Sammy Hagar live back in May may make me a little biased but it's a great album overall. It ranges his whole 40 year career and doubles as a great retrospective album in that sense. I will say the Zeppelin covers are great though you do wish there were more Montrose/Sammy Solo songs. Maybe even some deep cuts or a Chickenfoot song or 2. Over all though their guitarist Vic Johnson does take on Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, and the late Great Ronnie Montrose and does an exceptional job and with Jason Bonham on drums gives the songs a monstrous sound. Now I will say if your a first time fan this may not exactly win you over but it's a good introduction to these amazing songs that will make you want to hunt out the originals and for long time fans this is essential Sammy Hagar live album.
