A well-made, mid-priced HDMI 2.0 cable
Posted by: EvilBoffin from: NC on
High-speed HDMI 2.0 cables with HDCP 2.2 compatibility are required for the new HDR 4K TV's. Yes, these are digital signals that should not degrade or be terribly affected by the 'quality' of a cable, or how much silver content is used to make it... BUT - I tried using cheap HDMI cables with my 10-year old 1080P TV, and definitely experienced artifacts and dropouts until I installed a higher-grade cable, even on this simpler signal that should work with lower signal-to-noise ratios than 4K will ever tolerate. Also, my older TV will lose compliance with DirecTV DVR more often with the cheap cable, requiring reboot of the TV to regain video connection.
This cable was purchased alongside a new 4K TV, and has worked wonderfully since purchase. NO noticeable cable-related noise issues so far, or losing compliance with the same DVR's copy protection circuitry, either.
So all I can tell you is - - I am satisfied with this product, and feel it is a justifiable price when you are pairing it with a new, state-of-the-art 4K TV. I do, however, doubt there is much (if any) reason to spend more for a comparable length, high-speed HDMI cable - even from AudioQuest.
Hope that helps.....

Even better cables than the Forest!!
Posted by: kjsaywhat from: Anchorage, AK on
Originally got the Forest 2m HDMI cables to use with my blu ray player. They are amazing cables!! Don't get me wrong at all. But, I recently got a brand new LED 120hz HDTV and decided to use the Forest HDMI cable for my HD DVR Cable Box. Looks great with it!!
So, after researching and reading online reviews. I settled on buying a new pair of Cinnamon HDMI cables. What a huge difference. Like one of the other reviewers said,"Like Night and Day!" It is...Don't let others lead you to believe that cables are cables. With all the new advancements in HDTV's you truly need a faster cable to handle the 120hz on up to 600hz HDTV's. And this is a newer 1.4 cable!!
I am amazed at the color rendition across the whole spectrum. The contrast is amazing, the shadows are realistic, the blacks are nice and dark where they are suppose to be now. And the brights are natural and not overdriven.
I would easily tell my friends and family if they are planning on buying a new 120hz, 240hz, or even a 480hz LCD or LED-LCD or plasma to invest in these great cables!!

Definantly made a differance!!

Before I bought this cable, I bought a cheap HDMI cable due to all of the know it alls bragging how all HDMI cables are the same.. Not true!! I had a cheap 6' cable and everytime I changed channels on my Comcast catv box there would be a brief moment of pixelation.. Once I installed the cinnamon HDMI cable this immediatley went away.. HD looked much crisper.. My TV is a newer 3D Panasonic w/HDMI 1.4 jacks.. This cable handles the speed flawlessly.. The picture looks great.. I also have this cable on my 3D Blu Ray player.. Again, a huge differance in picture quality from my cheaper cables.. A friend of mine bought the Forest and he said he had the pixelation.. I told him to take the Forest back and try the Cinnamon.. It solved his problem as well, and he's been thanking me ever since.. Get these cables, they are 100% worth it.

These cable really inhance your viewer experience when you watching a movie. You need these cable to watch 4k with HDR and believe me you will not want to go to a movie again, going to the movie to Imax don't compare with what these cable actually do to inhance your TV. Please save and purchase you want be disappointed

I know there are a lot of pros and cons about which cables are better and do the higher end cables really make a difference. Just replaced a Monster cable with these, and I have to tell you, the store rep was right on the money. This cable blew away the Monster. My wife even asked me if I did something to the tv, that it looked better. No more ghosting and the blacks and whites are more defined. I'm sold ! Thanks Best Buy for the advice.

WOW...What a difference
Posted by: rcesp1 from: St. Pete, FL on
I was a little skeptical about trying these cables and my rep advised me on the tech aspect of the cable so I decided to go with it. He advised me that if you don't like it bring them back and get your money back.
Keep in mind that I have been a life long fan of Monster and have always used them until this point. What a difference! I could immediately notice the difference. But the true test was when my gf came home she asked what I had done to the TV because the HD channels appeared so much sharper and she didn't even know I had upgraded the cables.
I was sold! At this point I would recommend anyone to try these cables (Audio Quest $89 - Monster $200 plus) you do the math and if you're not happy bring them back. You will not be disappointed.

Does what it is supposed to but not sure if needed
Posted by: TechFan from: on
I believe I was suckered into buying this expensive cable when purchasing a 4k TV. When I asked if my new Samsung 4K tv came with an HDMI, he said yes, but I would need a special HDMI in order to get the full potential. By this point, I was already a few thousand dollars into my purchase, therefore I wasn't going to turn back so I added these expensive wires.
When I got home I did my research and found out that basically any HDMI cable that says High Speed HDMI, will support 4k. Also, that the more expensive variety are only really necessary when your TV is a far distance from the equipment.
I feel that I was suckered into an extra $100 worth of cords.

It's an HDMI Cable...Expensive One at That
Posted by: golferdad46 from: on
Like the review summary above, it's an HDMI cable which works great. However it is very expensive. I purchased these (2x6ft) at the time I purchased a 4k TV. BB reduced the price of the TV to accommodate the 2 cables. As FYI, any high speed HDMI cable will work just fine and produce similar results. I connected a $5.99 HDMI cable I purchased from Amazon and there was no difference in Picture or Sound quality to my eyes. There is no doubt AudioQuest makes a great product, but I cannot justify the extra cost when compared to much lower price HDMI cable for same result.

My new Brand
Posted by: MamaNanaof5 from: on
Monster was always my "go-to" brand for HDMI cables since it was usually the best available at my local discount store. Since purchasing the AudioQuest based on recommendation, I'm planning to make this brand my new cable of choice. I have Samsung Smart TV's in 3 rooms of my house and on occasion I unplug the power cable and HDMI cable and move the monitors into different rooms to check screen size, lighting, reflection glare, etc. Since the Samsung TV's use the same power cord, I don't have to pull the heavy credenza out to unplug it. I noticed when I used the AudioQuest cables on the last Samsung TV I purchased about 2 years ago, the sound quality was much better with these HDMI cables. I can't really tell the difference in the picture quality on the non-3D screen, but on the tv with 3D, it seems to be a brighter picture...not sure if its coincidence, but not taking any chances either. I will spring for the higher priced cables just based on my experience with similar tv's and trial and error alone.
