Audioquest: excellent audio and video HDMI Posted by: from: Nashville on My son upgraded my home theatre system yesterday, using Audioquest HDMI cables to interconnect our DVD recorder, Blu-Ray player, Home Theatre amp, and Cable box, with me having used analog cables for the past 4 years. It cost a bundle, but the net result was unbelievable... The video was perfect, much brighter, the audio went from very good to beyond excellent, and there have been no dropouts, no pixelizations, no frame freezes, or audio gliches. I wish I had done this years ago., However, I DO WISH that Audioquest had published its audio and video throughputs on the cable boxes like Monster, the maker of one of the HDMI cables. Why? because these cables are not cheap. We now have three Audioquests, a couple of Forests and a Pearl, and a Monster. All appear to be excellent, but I know the Monsters throughput, and even the Audioquest website does not publish their throughput figures, even though the Vodka and Diamonds get very expensive. All they say is, they pass the required 10-12 ghz throughput of the HDMI standard, while Monster goes up to nearly 18ghz per sec. I love the results, as I see them, but would love to know the numbers. Great product, beautiful presentation, and perceived excellent performance. I would buy these again, knowing what I know now. I am anxious to see what I think a few years down the road.

Not good Posted by: from: on I'm very disappointed in these cables. I bought a 4K Ultra HD tv as an upgrade from a regular HD tv. I was using regular HDMI cables on the new 4K UHD TV and noticed wavy lines on the tv for the first 5 minutes of use on the devices the HDMI cables were connected to. The salesperson at Best Buy suggested the Audioquest Pearl UHD HDMI cables to eliminate the wavy lines. They were twice the price at $40, but had were described to be made for the exact problem I was having. After installing the new cables, I still have the wavy lines. They now last for 3-4 minutes, instead of 5 minutes. No bueno.

Reading reviews helped with this purchase Posted by: from: on I read the reviews for this HDMI cord and they were helpful. I brought it home and used it for my Blu-ray player. The quality of my of movies were enhanced by a lot. I have an SUHD tv and I was using an older HDMI cord (I bought it in 2009) to watch my movies on my tv. It wasn't working out. The movie quality was worst than my cable tv quality. I knew it was the cord.

Really does help Posted by: from: on I mean there isn't a huge vast astonishing difference but if u are about the best quality u can get then this does help. While it's not one of those reactions of how ur tv looks compared to ones in the 60's this indeed does help. Sharpened up every fuzzy bit. Colors a tad more vibrant so yeah I like it. But if ur not that worried about best picture then maybe u don't need this.

Good Premium HDMI Posted by: from: on These are Premium HDMI cables. Cheaper than Monster, but work just as well. Cheaper HDMI wires don't don't last as long, at least that's my experience. If you wanted a better HDMI and don't want to spend a ton this is the way to go.

Not sure how big a difference it makes Posted by: from: Jonesboro, GA on Was convinced by the salesman that it would make a difference over regular HDMI cable. Not really sure it makes a difference, but did not want to take the chance for an extra $29.

Great HDMI cable Posted by: from: on Great signal strength with very little attenuation. Arrows on cable ends indicate the correct signal flow direction.

Didn't work Posted by: from: on This was recommended by salesman at Best Buy when we got our soundbar. We could not get the soundbar to work. After having someone come over it turned out the cable was bad. We used Bluetooth instead and that worked fine and we could or hear a lack of quality/. - which is why the cable was recommended.
