Ayrton Senna: Racing Is in My Blood
This video pays tribute to the great Formula One racer Ayrton Senna da Silva, who died in a freak accident in 1994 while racing in Italy. Considered one of the most talented drivers to ever hit Formula One racing, Senna was also one of the more controversial figures. This video does not give much attention to Senna's detractors, but rather explores this intense competitor's life and successes on the racetrack. Through interviews with team mechanics, sponsors and other racers an interesting view of Senna begins to develop. Highlights from his early years as a Kart racer and the many wins he gathered during his 10 years in the Formula One circuit also show Senna's talent for driving. Both the interviews and highlights touch on Senna's sometimes reckless moves on the track, but always notes that his actions were in the spirit of winning. This film pays a nice tribute Senna and also to the sport he loved with extreme passion. ~ Ed Atkinson, Rovi
