Great deal for two great shows Posted by: from: La Mirada, CA on I was initially confused by the title listing because with DVDs fullscreen means part of the original picture will be cropped out. However, after some research, with HD fullscreen means it utilizes the full screen of a widescreen TV. Now for the two shows included in this set: Band of Brothers and The Pacific. I loved Band of Brothers. It follows one company of men from their training throughout WWII in the European theater. A must watch. The Pacific highlights three different Marines in the Pacific theater. A good show but in my opinion Band of Brothers is better. I wish there were more extras for Band of Brothers like if there were deleted scenes (not sure if there are any). The packaging is nice. It comes in a box with a magnetic latch. The discs slip into sleeves in a thick card stock. Overall, for the price, I think this is a must own product.

Great Set… Must Watch Posted by: from: on Excellent historical series, one of best mini-series ever. Both do an excellent job of portraying the realities of each battle, war, and loss. Most war movies seem to be on the heroic bent, and these two are the harsh realities of what war does to people.

One of The Best WWII Epics Posted by: from: on Based on a true story and following one group through the War after D-Day this was a great way to learn and feel how it was to be at risk during WWII. Truly a classic.

Pricing is wierd Posted by: from: Bergen County, NJ on I find it odd that you can purchase these sets on sale separately for a total of $70 right now. However no one thought to lower the 2 series set to that price. lol I can buy them shrink wrapped together for $160 or I can by them shrink wrapped separately for $70 total. DUH! lol Great series. I consider this to be the last truly great war ever fought. Everything after has had a negative impact on our country. This series gives you the greatest sense of what it was REALLY like.

Awesome and incredible!!! Posted by: from: Salt Lake City on If you have seen either of the miniseries, you will know exactly what I'm talking about. Both are excellent, but very differently done. The Band of Brothers gets you more involved with the individual characters while still telling an excellent and realistic story about what life must have been like for the incredible men who fought that war. The Pacific is excellent, too but focuses less on the characters and more on the Pacific campaign itself. Highly recommend both to WW II and history buffs.
