About time Hans & JXL teamed up! Posted by: from: Kansas City, MO on Maybe it should be called Hans Zimmer V. Junkie XL... There are two different styles apparent in the music which fit our two "fighters" greatly. We've grown accustomed to having a general expectation of what Batman's dark sounds should be and this is no expectation. Now with the Superman notes, they're more somber than what they were in MOS. Now flaws aside in the movie (and oooh how there are plenty), there are plenty of things that worked, and the score is one of the more positive qualities. I'm not too much of a fan of the Lex Luthor notes nor the Wonder Woman theme, but I still listen to them to take it in sometimes. Hearing this music alone makes me think further on how there's a good movie trapped inside a bad movie here! While Hans is leaving the superhero genre, I'm eager to find out what else JXL will be doing in the future. Oh! The poster inside is a nice touch.

Great soundtrack Posted by: from: on Even though this was a collaborative piece between Junkie XL and Hans Zimmer, I feel that it doesnt change how great of an artist both Junkie and Hans are. Overall great soundtrack to a good movie.

Worthy Soundtrack, but Not Iconic Posted by: from: on Veteran film composer Hans Zimmer has scored some of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters, including Christopher Nolan's acclaimed Dark Knight trilogy and the most recent Superman film, Man of Steel. For the upcoming sequel to that film (the first time Batman and Superman will on the big screen at the same time, not to mention Wonder Woman and other Justice Leaguers), he teams up with rising star Junkie XL for a good, solid score. Zimmer brings back some of his Superman themes from Man of Steel, but he and Junkie are careful not to reuse anything from the Nolan films, as this is a new Batman in a different universe. The score bears many of the duo's trademarks, but aside from the previously mentioned Superman themes, nothing emerges as particularly iconic, which is a shame. Those of us old enough to remember watching the Christopher Reeve Superman or Michael Keaton Batman movies know how great the themes for those films were. Just a few notes of the John Williams Superman march or Danny Elfman's Batman put you in Metropolis or Gotham City, and it's too bad that this score couldn't deliver on that level. Nonetheless, it's enjoyable to listen to, and the deluxe version has some extra music and liner notes including an interview with the composers. Worth a purchase, but if Zimmer and Junkie return for the upcoming Justice League film, let's hope they come up with something truly memorable.

Not bad Posted by: from: on Not a bad follow up to Man of Steel. It just wasn't quite as good. Zimmer reuses some of the quieter themes for Superman, but the action themes that I loved most from Man of Steel are nowhere to be found. The themes for Batman and Wonder Woman aren't bad, but nothing really memorable.

The Trinity sounds Glorious Posted by: from: on I love this soundtrack, specially Beautiful Dream, Their War Her and the applause inducing, hair rising Is She With You?. I believe that Zimmer is a worthy successor to John Williams, and his work on future DC movies will be missed, but at least he gifted us with this jewel and Man Of Steel soundtrack to enjoy in the future. I still believe that the Man Of Steel soundtrack wins by a notch, but it's worth buying, no doubt about it. Plus all of the package design is awesome!
