A tiny taste of Ron Moore's BSG Posted by: from: Boston on Take all of the great visual effects from the entire 4 seasons of BSG, and throw it into a 94 minute movie. They're different and great effects from the people who brought us Battlestar Galactica though. The plot is thin, with no character development. There's not a still shot in the movie. It's all shaky cam, way beyond what was in BSG. The camera won't even stay still long enough to focus on what the characters look like. After an hour, I had to take a break to rest my eyes. It was shot in Vancouver, so there's a number of familiar SciFi acting faces from BSG, Stargate, Defying Gravity, etc. If you want a taste of Ron Moore's BSG, to satisfy your BSG withdrawal, this doesn't help much. Better to rewatch "Razor." And if you were hoping for Tricia Helfer, well ... If you're a BSG fan and watch this, you'll know. I would have enjoyed this if the camera work didn't make me nauseous ... and I'm a camera operator.

Too Much CGI - Most Characters are Unlikeable Posted by: from: on The Battlestar Galactica series that ran on the SyFy channel from 2003 - 2009 was much better. This particular BSG has entirely too much CGI and not enough likeable characters.

Battlestar Gallactica the Prequel Posted by: from: Midwest on For the Battlestar Gallactica Fans. We see Adama as a young recruit joining the fight against the Cylons. In addition, we get to see the Human's battleship armada in their prime during the Cylon Wars. It's a shame, the movie never got the green light for a series. This series had potential to add undiscovered and rich lore to a great franchise. The sound and picture were crystal clear on blu ray. The only reason, I'm giving it a 4 star is because the movie felt too short.

Great Companion to the BSG series! Posted by: from: Allison, PA on William Adama (Commander/Admiral in the Syfy-produced "newer" series) and provides some background on the evolution of the Cylon menace. CGI effects can be a bit much at times; however, most scenes are shot/animated well. See if you can pick out Tricia Helfer's voice (Number Six from BSG) to help build that connection to BSG!

Great prequel! Posted by: from: New York, USA on A great prequel. Huskers origin needs to be told. They really did a great job in starting it. Now we just need a regular series to continue with the story.

Eh. Not great. Glad I only paid $10 Posted by: from: on A low budget, underwhelming mini feature that doesn't live up to its title. This was made after BSG had concluded its run on Syfy in an attempt to milk more money out of fans that was released in a series of 10 minute, straight to YouTube videos. Despite that, this feature is seamlessly put together, however it just wasn't that great. Not much Blood. Not much Chrome. Too much over acting. Too much from the Moore camp. I'm glad I didn't spend the $30 when it first came out. Worth $10, not $30. It even has a digital copy so you can be underwhelmed on the go, where ever you may be.
