Beautiful, modern and strong TV stand
Posted by: YWang from: Bay Area, CA on
This TV stand is a perfect fit to our new Sony 55" LED LCD TV. It is a very strong TV stand. I am most happy with the glass doors of the two side cabinets. The glass is tainted in black and matches very well with the black LCD TV sitting on top of the stand. The hinges of the doors also give a very nice feel to the opening and closing of the doors. There is only one divider in each of the two side cabinets. Since the divider is very thick to support heavy equipments, so using more than one thick dividers may not be most space efficient. Having used the stand for more than a month now, we are now very used to the idea of stacking some players on top of each other. Our central speaker has a tweet on top and is taller than most models. The central speaker works very well sitting on the top shelf of the the center cabinet. The TV stand does not need assembly and is very strong. We are very happy with the unit. One of our receivers is deeper than the cabinet so we have to leave the back open.

Poor quality for the money
Posted by: tripp2loo from: on
Holds everything I need it to, including a large amp. Looks good.
Horrible construction. The first one I got the sides at the bottom had pushed down and pushed out the dowels. You could see that he dowels were very short, drilled into the base which is chip board and held together with finishing nails. This is a bad construction design, not to mention the cheap materials used.
All airflow is in the rear, from underneath coming out of the back, none of it will flow over your devices, You cannot use anything with the doors closed, it will overheat. I plan to replace the back panels with custom made ones that will have a built in cooling system.
One of the shelve pins had no threads on it, and they didn't supply any spares. I used a bolt.
The threads for the shelve pins were full of lacquer, this prevented the shelve pins from being screwed in. I used metric a metric tap to clean out the threads so they could be installed easily.
Overall this is a lot of money for something that is no better than pre-assembled 'flat-pack'. I now wish I had taken my wife's suggestion and take the design to an Amish furniture builder and had it built well with "wood". I could of had this done for about the same price.

Nice design but not good build quality
Posted by: cbalentino from: on
This Belo media center was designed very good for AV components but lacks build quality. The base of unit uses very cheap feet and particle board for the bottom. I went through 3 of these with no success, Best Buy refused to sell me another one based on they all were damaged out of the box. If the bottoms a better build construction, this may have helped save a few of these. If you' want a serious home theater media center, go for the BDI stuff, a bit more expensive but they come packed much better and use very strong base/feet - literally could land on the moon with their stuff.

Excellent piece of furniture

After searching for TV stands and cabinets, we chose this unit for its looks and features. It's priced really well, considering I've seen similar items cost well into $1600-$1800 at other places, even at Best Buy. What impressed me once I had it home was how substantial it was -- the hardware is high-quality, and the unit is very strong and heavy. The doors can be adjusted for fit, and the shelving pins screw in rather than just pushing in. The cable management is well thought out, with space behind the cabinet for cables, and the rear panels are removable to reach the back of each device. If I had to pick a downside, it would be the veneer finish -- like any veneer, it scratches and can peel at the edges. But that is a minor beef. Overall, a beatiful cabinet that offers lots features and storage space.

Excellent stand for Samsung 64" Plasma
Posted by: VideoManRoy from: York, PA on
I received this yesterday and couldn't be happier. All components fit well and the flexibility of shelf location is fantastic. I was able to hide all cables utilizing their system , even hiding some under the lower shelf. HIGHLY recommend the use of 2 1/2 X 9 SuperSliders under the 4 corners to make it easier to slide this into location after you have placed all your equipment on the shelves. Remotes work well through the tinted glass. All in all, a fantastic product.

When I pulled the stand out the box I noticed the glass door had what looks like glue holding it to the wood frame. It was very noticeable almost like this has to be a joke. The left side of the stand had started to come apart where you could see the small nail holding it together. The window tint is not as dark as I have seen on other best buy tv stands. The design is what I was searching for but the quality is garbage. I returned it the same day.

Side panels are not adequately attached and come loose at bottom, making doors close on an angle, or not at all. We complained, and it took a week for a visit from Geek Squad to confirm problem. Then another trip to BB to arrange pickup and delivery of new item. The new one was worse; so bad that the delivery men would not bring it in. They took both away and BB warehouse has no more. We have a big mess: new electronic components and no furniture, though we paid almost 1k for furniture. Let the buyer beware!

A really good value that looks great.

Other that the size of the speaker area, I could find nothing wrong with this purchase. It is solid, one piece and well constructed. The finish is good and the adjustability is available on the vertical but not horizontal. I would purchase this again and would recommend to a friend. The 2 glass doors are heavy and shut tight without closing unless opened all the way. You would not be sorry to purchase.
