Crisp & clear... Posted by: from: Chicago, Il on My shopping experience at BestBuy was very pleasant... I received my order quicker than the estimated delivery time... This movie was clear in standard dvd but the Blu-Ray version is too real to be true.... I would not believe this movie was released in 1985 or 1986 if I didn't see it back then due to the crisp & clear video contained in this Blu-Ray of Big Trouble in Little CHina... Everything from the audio & video were enchanced to crystal clear clarity... The comparsion scenario is like a Jimi Hendrix song on an 8-track or original cassette tape versus remastered on a enhanced Cd... I highly recommend this movie on Blu-Ray from BestBuy..

Two girls with green eyes Posted by: from: Central Ohio on Classic movie. Seeing Kurt Russell as "Jack Burton" with such swagger on screen always rambling on and sometimes talking about himself in third person is awesome. Then in the midst of some San Fran Chinatown Black Magic showdown, his rig gets stolen and that just won't work for him. Victor Wong as "Egg Shen" and James Hong as "David Lo Pan" give some cool, memorable performaces. Seeing young Kim Cattrall on screen is always a treat. A few decent extras worth checking out for die hard fans.

Kurt Russell and John Carpenter. 'Nuff said. Posted by: from: California on If you haven't seen 'Big Trouble in Little China', you owe it to yourself to own it, NOW. If you know it, love it (as you well should), get the Blu Ray and you'll be riding the Porkchop Express to the best picture and sound quality this movie has ever seen.

Carpenter/Russell! How can you go wrong? Posted by: from: on Big Trouble is a movie that really doesn't need a review at this point. If you are looking at buying this you more than likely have seen it before and are just looking to upgrade to Blu-Ray. If that is the case it is definitely worth the upgrade. The picture quality is much better than the dvd and is miles ahead of whatever source they are using on Netflix. Sound is also quite good. It's not on par with all the blockbusters of today but does a fine job and the soundtrack also pops and shines on this blu-ray. If you are wondering about supplements there are enough here to wet your appetite but most notable and greatest is the commentary with Carpenter and Russell. It's always a pleasure listening to these two old friends doing a commentary and this one is one of their bests. All in all if you are looking to upgrade it is well worth it. If for some reason you haven't seen it yet sorry my review doesn't offer anything to help. I will tell you though you are doing yourself a great disservice by not watching this film.

Fantastic Cult Classic Film Posted by: from: Pacific NW on Bought this Blu-ray on sale. This action/comedy is one of John Carpenters brilliant films. Great cast. A definite must have for any 80's fan; especially in HD.

Weird, but great Posted by: from: on Blu ray transfer looks great. This is one odd movie, but it works. Kurt Russell is hilarious as the lead character.

Great movie considering the decade it was made! Posted by: from: on If you always keep in mind that this movie came out in the mid 80s, you'll enjoy it immensely. My kids would probably hate it because the effects don't stand up to today's standards and some of the creatures are clearly people in costumes but it was actually really fun to watch. It definitely has what most movies lack these days...character development. You really get to like the characters and care what happens to them. It's a fun story and has just the right amount of darkness to make it interesting. The sound and picture of this Blu-ray is actually pretty good, still keeping in mind the decade this movie was made. The picture was a bit grainy in parts but still very clear. The sound was pretty good too. The music sounded fantastic while sound effects and dialogue were a bit lacking. Of course, the music was created by the director, John Carpenter, so maybe he put more love in making the soundtrack sound great for Blu-ray. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience watching this great 80s classic.

Classic Kurt Russel - What more is there to say? Posted by: from: on This move is one of my all time favorite cult classic films. I love the campyness of it and the robust amount of characters they recruited for the film. I can't wait to see it on Blue Ray.

The greatest movie in the history of time Posted by: from: on If you have never seen Big Trouble in Little China, I'm not sure how you have made it this far in life. You are fortunate. You should immediately watch this movie before it's too late. Imagine taking John Wayne as his apex of toughness. Throw him into a fairly standard Saturday afternoon kung fu movie. Now imagine you take away his toughness ability, BUT he still thinks he's the toughest guy around. That is Big Trouble in Little China. Kurt Russell is at his best with his John Wayne voice, asian tank top, full on mullet and his jeans tucked into his boots. He butchers cliche tough lines and somehow says them without laughing. It's one of the best and most underappreciated films ever. Kim Catrall is beautiful and funny and matches Kurt line for line and scene for scene. Watch it, again and again and again.
