It has its moments, but seems a bit over-rated. Posted by: from: Boynton Beach, FL on I had some store credit and stumbled upon this movie which won Best Picture and got several other nominations. It is amusing in its own ways and very well shot and crafted as a whole. It getting the hype it got, though, I was expecting more. The plot was a little more random than I would have liked and not very engrossing. While interesting and witty, and having some of my favorite actors in the cast (Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Edward Norton), it seemed to in a way present itself as though it was being taken for granted that it would get awards and should be highly acclaimed just for existing. While it certainly did get awards and nominations, it still could have done without that underlying arrogance. It's hard to explain, but it seems to, like "Anchorman" or "The Other Guys", take for granted its humor and that everyone should just naturally find it amusing simply because it says it is. I would not tell people not to watch it, though, and it was certainly better than "Anchorman" and "The Other Guys."

Powerful Birdman Posted by: from: on Not entirely what I expected in terms of the plot and certainly the thin line between Keaton's reality & the real world. But an amazing performance from Keaton & the entire cast. There are many moments in the film that resonate much deeper for actors, since a lot of what appears to be the crazy nature of putting a play and working with actors of various temperaments is something we know all too well. But for non-theater/actor types, the film is still a rivoting look at an actor's psyche and expertly blends comic absurdity with pathos.

Unusual pick for Best Picture 2014 Posted by: from: on Birdman is one of those films where the performances are what makes the film work, otherwise....your sense of belief has to be totally suspended as the plot (for what there is of it) works its way to its conclusion. Michael Keaton is at his best as a former Hollywood action star trying to do serious work on Broadway. Edward Norton plays a cast member who is so obnoxious and opinionated that he threatens to take over the entire production. Naomi Watts and Emma Stone are just as good in their supporting roles, but I had issue with Keaton's does he really have super powers or is this just going on in his head persona. I felt that it wasn't explained as well as it should have been. Even though I did laugh at the scene when his alter-ego finally shows himself ,but the sequence where Keaton is running around Times Square in his "whitey tidies" will be remembered for a long time.

Great dishwasher Posted by: from: on A great dishwasher by Bosch! Unfortunately I was unable to get it to fit into the opening and had to return it. I am in the processing of selecting another dishwasher that will fit into the opening in my kitchen!
