A Tribute Concert That Got It Right Posted by: from: Colts Neck NJ on This double CD is a re-issue from 1993. The event was a concert staged in Oct 1992 at Madison Square Garden as a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Dylan's recording career. Many of his contemporaries were present ( George Harrison, Ron Wood, Roger McGuinn, The Band ) as were a handful of the artists that he influenced ( Eddie Vedder, Chrissie Hynde, Neil Young, John Mellencamp,Tom Petty ). The performances are a mixed lot, with some incredible covers like " Masters Of War " by Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready from Pearl Jam and " Seven Days " which finds Ron Wood sounding more like Dylan than Dylan ( meant in the best possible way ). On the flip side, there's Lou Reed's turgid " Foot Of Pride " and Dylan himself just going through the motions on "It's Alright Ma ( I'm Only Bleeding )". The highlight for me is " My Back Pages "...a version featuring Dylan,McGuinn,Petty,Young,Clapton and Harrison trading verses and waking Dylan up to rise to the occasion. If you're a Dylan fanatic or just a casual fan, you would do well to add this to your collection.

One of the best tribute concerts ever Posted by: from: Fairport, NY on This is a reissue of one of the best rock tribute concerts ever - great collection of performers and songs. Unfortunately, many of the people who played at this 1992 are no longer with us, and while they added two extra tracks from the rehearsals they failed to add in some great performances that were also left off the original release, such as George Thorogood's Wanted Man, Sophie B. Hawkins' I Want You. and Eric Clapton's Love Minus Zero. Some of these are on the DVD.

Great concert / retrospective of the artist. Posted by: from: Laurel, MD on I had this album on cassette when it first came out. Buying this on CD with the bonus tracks was really worth it, particularly to hear Richie Havens' rendition of "Just Like A Woman" (R.I.P.). Hearing Sinead O' Connor's rehearsal was very interesting, as now in retrospect one can see where she was maligned by American audiences. If you are a fan of Bob Dylan's music and you have not heard this concert, then you are missing out. Highly recommended.

terrible Posted by: from: on This is a collection Dylan's songs performed by various artists. They do a terrible job overall. This is not what I expected it to be and I sincerely wish I hadn't spent that much money on it.

Awesome mix of artists! Posted by: from: Rochester, NY on We often think of very popular Dylan tunes...this collection has so many songs, each sung by a different artist. Play it everyday driving! You won't be disappointed!

Better version of '90s release! Posted by: from: Norman, OK on The ratings categories don't do this item justice. Many of Bob's greatest songs performed by a who's who of Hall of Fame artists. An excellent bookend for the blu-ray.

Great concert Posted by: from: Michigan on This is a great concert disc. Some very good versions include Lou reed and George Harrison, but a few by the numbers boring versions also.
