Bosch dishwashers were rated as being one of the quietest. This one is rated at 46dBA. I have used it a couple of times. I have to say, I am impressed. Not sure what 46dBA's sound like, I can hardly tell if it's even running. I literally have to put my ear against it to hear it; super quiet. My refrigerator makes more noise than this dishwasher. I just knew there was no way the dishes could be clean, both times, dishes were totally clean. Works great with the detergent capsules. Bought this one in the store. Great deal on delivery & installation.

Annoying interior outweighs the quietness
Posted by: TNMID from: TN on
We have owned this for 5 months. I'll get the good out of the way now-yes, it's very quiet, I forget it's running at times. That's about it for me on the good. Now for the bad. The rack on the bottom doesn't have an actual track, so if you don't pull it out exactly right, it falls off and is a pain to reset if you have dishes in it. The tines on the bottom rack have a horrible design-some are too close together and it's so very annoying to try and put large pots and pans in it. Then there is the smell, the lingering, awful smell that permeates our plastics and makes the water we drink taste like it. We have tried several different dish pacs and rinse agents. We have city water. Nothing makes a difference-it has to be a reaction with the interior walls or something. I read this before we bought it, but hoped it was a fluke-not so, be warned....... Overall, if I could return it I would. Bosch is supposed to be the best and they failed on this model, not enough research and whatever is reacting with the soap has ruined this experience for us-being stuck with it makes it that much more frustrating.

broke down after 4 uses
Posted by: drew0ct from: connecticut on
Used four times before it died. First service call did not fix. Second time replaced computer and still did not work, serviceman declared it not fixable. Six weeks of anguish with bosch customer service. Spoke with rep and manager who no longer respond to calls. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. Do yourself a favor and do not risk buying bosch.

Disappointed in Bosch - Handle on 2 Units Cracked
Posted by: mrsshotgun from: on
I took a long time and did a lot research before ordering the BOSCH dishwasher to replace my stone age model which was in our home when we purchased it 5 years ago. At first I was thrilled with this dishwasher since it was fabulous looking, quiet, did a great job and dried the dishes very well which I noticed several people said was an issue. I kept raving about it and how I was glad I spent the extra money to buy the Bosch. After about a month I noticed that the handle (which is plastic) had started to crack. I called Best Buy Geek Squad and they were happy to replace the unit since it was less than a month old. I was reluctant to replace the unit because I was just so happy with everything else about it. But, Best Buy was fantastic and replaced the entire unit which took about three weeks since it was special order.
After delivery of the new unit in February I was a little disappointed in the install since the first one did not protrude out from the counter/cabinets at all and this one did. But, I decided not to worry about it. It didn't dry as well as the first one and left a lingering smell that I thought would go away once it ran a few times. So, fast forward three weeks and I see cracks in the handle of the new unit. I call the Geek Squad who, again were wonderful offering to replace the unit but suggested I think about getting another model. So while I am researching another brand or model the handle has continued to crumble with pieces cracking off daily.
I really don't know how else to rate this unit since I loved the first one and wished that they had just come to replace the handle although I'm not sure that wouldn't have continued to be a problem. The smell has gotten worse and I do see water pooling in the bottom of the unit and massive condensation on the walls no matter how long I let it dry for. So, would I recommend this to a friend? I don't think so. More importantly, anyone who purchased this unit should carefully look at the handle to determine if the plastic is splitting in the faceplate where the handle is screwed into the unit.

I was really hesitant to buy a dishwasher that cost $700 bucks. My past experiences meant that I had to rinse almost to the point of clean, before loading. I was surprised when looking around, how many didn't offer a feature to turn the heating element off, I wanted that so it didn't melt lids. The salesman pointed me to this model because it had no heating element at all. At first I thought the bottom rack placement was weird and didn't hold as much. This thing holds plenty and let me tell you, I barely rinse anything and the dishes come out spotless each and every time. I couldn't be happier with this dishwasher and it is so quiet I have honestly put my head next to it to see if it is working. Keep rinse aid in it * which I never did with older models* and there will be a dry dishwasher and spotless dishes. I can't say enough good things about this dishwasher!

Not only is the Bosch 300 an attractive replacement for our old GE, but it does an excellent job cleaning the dishes and runs extremely quietly! I love the flexible loading options( something my old dishwasher didn't have); I can actually load some of the larger casserole dishes and serving platters that I used to have to hand wash as my old dishwasher could not accommodate them! I was very pleased with the sale price, the help and information provided by the sales associate, and the delivery and installation offered by Best Buy!

We puchased this dishwasher because it was rated as one of the quietest on the market. We thought that having a drying cycle in the dishwasher would not be an issue, due to the fact that I would often open the door to my old dishwasher and let the dishes air dry. However, this one is difficult to keep open, and therefore it doesn't air dry, and if you have a little water in the dishwasher it gets a little "stinky." I'm also not a fan of the very slanted prongs, I think it makes it difficult to load things that are a different size than a flat plate.
It is however a very, very quiet machine.

We are very happy with this new dishwasher. We researched many for quite some time before buying the Bosch. It was always one of the highest ranking on all the reviews we read. We love it and would reccomend it to anyone. If you are shopping for a new dishwasher make sure you look at the racks they are differ and some you will like better than others.

Most quiet dishwasher

Bosch dishwashers have a reputation for being quiet and this is definitely the case. The Bosch 300 is the quietest dishwasher I've owned. It also does a great job of washing. I'm extremely pleased with the purchase.
