the Bosch dishwasher is expensive but based upon it's performance it seems over priced. Reasonable expectations - just get the dishes clean and dry. Depends on what you put in and how it is positioned whether you get the dishes really clean. There is a learning curve for sure. The bottom rack is an odd configuration - the middle rack is to shallow and if you have standard sized glasses and mugs they don't clear the upper rack - which is for silverware etc. We have made the decision to take the upper rack out and that will reduce the loading time. Seems that there wasn't any end-user feedback on the design and placement of the racks as the design flaws are painfully obvious when loading the dishes. Like trying to solve a puzzle where the pieces don't seem to fit together. A lot of wasted time right now if you want to maximize the load.
We do a lot of entertaining and use over sized plates - the lower rack will only hold two for every load. Had we known that we would not have purchased this model.
Some sections of the instruction manual appear to be have written by an engineer for an engineer. Fortunately the Bosch customer service team is exceptional and has been able to answer all our questions. The dishes are not 100% dry at the end of the washing cycle. Need to leave the door open for them to air dry - not a good idea.
The Bosch product line was personally and highly recommended by a highly respected interior designer who does kitchens for multi-million homes.
Could be a case of user error - OK - will go with that for now. So we are going to continue flattening the learning curve - man versus machine if you will.

Looks great, fairly quiet

I'm upset with this dishwasher and can't figure out how it gets such good ratings. First, it is difficult to load. Tall things don't fit, bowls don't fit well, glasses fall over. It holds about a third less than my last dishwasher. Worse, things don't get clean! which is the primary purpose of a dishwasher. You have to have a half full load to receive clean dishes. Don't even think about putting pans, cutting boards, or large bowls in here as you will just end up having to do them by hand and run the rest of the load through again. About every fourth load has to be re-run. The company says not to pre-wash dishes, that the machine "senses" how much dirt is there and that is the reason they are not coming clean, because they go in "too clean". Not so. If you put dirty dishes in, they still come out dirty. I've had issues with the detergent not coming out of the dispenser. Also, a film sits on top of all the dishes so they have to be hand-rinsed before putting away. This dishwasher is beautiful but don't be fooled--it doesn't work well. I'm trying to save someone else the frustration we are experiencing.

A great dishwasher

Our kitchen counter is low, so we needed a washer that would fit. This one not only fits, but does a great job cleaning the dishes. It is very quiet.

Not great unfortunately

Positives: 1 - stainless steel look; 2 - quiet; 3 - no logo on the front, which means that it can be mixed and matched.
Negatives: 1 - Poor layout inside – you put in a few items and it’s full; 2 - the third rack, while initially seems like a great feature, actually just eats into dishwasher's already small space; 3 - tall glasses don't fit - they tip over and fall/break, so you won't be able to wash your wine glasses; 4 - the wash cycle is too long: 2 hours 25 min on auto; 5 - the hot drying feature doesn't work. The dishes still have water on them after the drying; 6 - no garbage disposal feature.

So sleek! So quiet!!

Love the look, and it is so quiet. Learning to load it was tricky, especially we never had the silverware rack on previous dishwashers. But, it works!

Excellent Product but it is shorter than normal

Beautiful and works perfectly. super quiet and getting the dishes super clean. The water softener seems to help a lot since the water here is pretty hard. Only thing is that it is a few inches shorter than the normal dishwashers. Not sure if that was a requirement to make it ADA compliant. Would buy again.

You won't be disappointed!

Just purchased this Bosch model 3 months ago to replace our previous Bosch dating from 2005, yes 12 years old before it gave up on us! It's just as quiet, and powerful as I expected. This model is an upgrade to our old friend, offering more wash cycles, racks and configuration options but most importantly, the built-in water softener which was the deciding factor as we have very hard water in Southeast Wisconsin. It's important that you use only water softener salt that's made for dishwashers. True, it's salt for water softeners, but ground to the right grain size for this appliance. Love the led light which shows us it's in operation because if you've ever owned a Bosch, you have most likely opened the door while it was running because you couldn't hear it. If I have to offer a criticism, I will say it has more to do with the way European appliances function in general, i.e., they are a bit too green if you aren't accustomed to them, what I mean by that is as there is no heating element, plastics tend to stay drippy after the drying cycle even with the stainless steel tub, thus you will often have to dry them manually. Not a big deal for anyone in our family as we are used to it. This model has the top "third" rack which at first I didn't think I would use, but now find every excuse to load not only extra flatware but odd things that just seem to fit in there. The stainless steel finish perfectly matches our Samsung four door counter depth fridge and double oven gas range. You will be hard pressed to find a better dishwasher.
