Best Buy Customer Reviews

I bought this to replace the Bose 3-2-1 system which was not functioning properly, even after many hard resets. I did not read any reviews and this was pretty much an impulse purchase. Our Bose 3-2-1 system began to act erratically, so we figured it was time to go with a new system. We chose Bose because we had excellent past experience with the brand. For our living room, 12 x 25', this new Bose system is perfect. I admit I was a little skeptical, because the physical size of the system was so much smaller and had fewer speakers than the 321. The difference between this and the 321 is significant. There's no DVD player, no AM FM radio, and you cannot see the volume level on the television. At first I thought that was rather strange, but there is a tiny white light on the front of the sound bar that blinks as you are increasing or decreasing the volume. We have been very happy with the system. It has at least lived up to what we thought it might do. We've had it for a couple months now, and it has been exactly what we needed. We would buy this again.

Typical Bose quality, atypical Bose price
Posted by: Benjamin from: on
In brief, the system is compact, unobtrusive, and the sound greatly exceeded my (high) expectations. For news and other "standard" programming, clarity of voice is truly excellent; not merely an enhancement of my TV speaker (which, I should add, leaves a lot to be desired). For movies, I was shocked by the surround effect. Better than any other non-5.1 (or 7.1) systems I've sampled, and I've tried out quite a few. The bass module is exceptional, even for the subtle. I was most struck by this yesterday while watching a show that had a phone on vibrate; the vibration sound was so realistic that I assumed it was coming from my own iPhone. The system is also ideal for all genres of music (or at least those I've played on it: rock, rap, classical, pop, jazz). I even started using the remote instead of my FiOS remote, which has a nice in-hand feel and was easy to set up with TV, DVD player, DVR box, Apple TV, and Roku. Yes, it's more expensive than some (if not many) other soundbar systems, but I find the quality to be disproportionately better. Additionally, having owned a number of Bose products, I will say that their customer service has been outstanding.

Do not be fooled by the size

The first thing that came to my mind when I first saw the Bose soundbar on display is wow Bose wants 499.00 on sale for that little thing, there's nothing to it! But after reading the reviews I decided to try it since I was looking for a small soundbar for my office. The sound was so amazing I decided to try it in my living room and compare side by side with my much larger 42" Vizio 5.1 with subwoofer and surrounds. I kept rewinding the same scenes from the show Arrow by hooking up the Bose and then the Vizio over and over and found the Bose offered sounds you simply could not hear with the Vizio such as when the glass window shattered you can hear the tiny pieces of glass hit the tile and slide across the floor hitting the chair legs. Time and time again I picked up sounds using the Bose that were either muffled or not present on the Vizio sound bar and the sound projects so much better and clearer you really do not need surround speakers. The best way I can describe the sound is like if you were to compare a picture taken with a low megapixel camera to a much higher megapixel you would see much more detail and sharper image in the better quality camera. The Bose offers a much better listening experience with better detail.

Amazing sound quality!

So this little thing delivers sounds that others simply cant!
I went with the Solo 15 II series at first.
I was amazed by how low profile it was and still added a lot of sound to my Sony Bravia 4k.
Then I went to Bose.com and saw the Cinemate15 on sale for 499
so I rushed to Best Buy and returned the Solo 15 and got the Cinemate 15 and took it home.
For 100 dollars more I think its worth the money to get the Cinemate 15 over the Solo,
Great thing about it is that both are very low profile but it delivers sounds that others just cant not in this price range. The sound from Bose is simply more refined in any level. Very clear high notes and the bass well Acustimas delivers it. There is a fine-tuned balance between the two that it simply just sounds great!
For 500 dollars this is a steal (on sale)!
Compared to the other Bose series that go well above 2500 or 3000?
Well...needless to say...Yes it is worth every penny!

small size, amazing sound
Posted by: Amit81 from: on
I bought this new Bose soundbar & sub-woofer 1 month ago, and it's quality is excellent ! Soundbar is so small, that you can put it either in front of TV or behind also, but sound quality is excellent, you can hear the minute voices also and it fills the entire room . Sub-woofer is also very good and produces great bass sound. This is suitable for all specially for those families who have small kids(like I have one year old kid) or shortage of space in room. Only drawback it has that Sub-woofer is connected with wire, so it needs to kept along with TV. If it has wireless sub-woofer, then no other soundbar can beat it in this price-range. But it's worth of every penny - produces great sound with excellent sub-woofer.

The little sound bar that could
Posted by: Dave9988 from: Rockford, IL on
This little sound bar exceeded my expectations. It has a spacious, three dimensional front sound field, crystal clear dialogue and very good surround effects in rooms with hard, reflective surfaces like side walls. And you don't have to turn it up very loud to hear the on screen dialogue.
Ease of Set Up - 10/10
Dialogue - 9/10
Bass - 10/10 (You can adjust the bass higher or lower from the Acoustimass module to suit your tastes)
Surround Effects - 6/10 (Although some scenes in "Lone Survivor" and "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" were pushing 9/10)
Bottom line, this is not just a glorified Solo with a subwoofer. This unit is in a class of its own. It's recommended to put this unit in a room with hard, reflective surfaces to take full advantage of the side firing drivers which bounces sounds off the walls for surround effects. This unit may be much more convenient than the Cinemate GS Series II since it has fewer wires and does not require table or floor stands.
I have mine located in a bedroom measuring 14 x 12. Most people looking for simplicity and great sound will be very pleased with this latest offering from Bose.

Much Better Than you Might Think
Posted by: MeMark from: on
I was reluctant to make the commitment (seemed kind of expensive for what it is) on the Bose Soundbar. I wanted it from the start but read LOTS of reviews on other comparable (cheaper) soundbars and they looked really good on paper. I brought 3 other soundbar systems home and ended up returning all of them. Samsung, Sony, JBL. I should have gone with my gut and just paid up for the Bose in the first place. SUPER easy to install. Very loud. Giant bass. Great sonic range. Solid high quality remote. Small footprint (my wife loves that too). The best of the bunch. Now the down side (why I only gave it 4 out of 5). No HDMI. Wired Sub. No display to show volume settings. And the worst annoyance is the fact you can not adjust the Sub's volume via the remote control. The Sub has a dial on the back that's tough to reach. But at the end of the day I can live with all of the shortcomings because it is really really good at doing what it's made to do. It's sounds amazing for being so simple. Perfect for someone who doesn't want to fuss with settings and just wants instant gratification. Set it and forget it.

Excellent speaker system.
Posted by: Garden from: on
I really love this Bose CineMate 15 Home Theater Speaker Symtem. The clarity is amazing. I wanted a simple system, rather than a complete surround sound system to go with our new 65" Sony TV. I first purchased a different brand 2 speaker system from another store, but was not happy with it and returned it after one day. I then looked into the different Bose systems and decided on this one. You cannot go wrong with a Bose product. I would highly recommend it.

I've been looking to replace my Samsung 2.1 with a more powerful system for quite a while now, but between a family budget, and space limitation, I was hard pressed to find a product that could satisfy both.
After seeing/hearing this on display in-store, and not too mention the sale price prior to the holiday's, I had to take advantage of this purchase.
As far as performance, do not under-estimate it's pint size sound bar, you will be amazed how such a clutter free, compact setup could output such robust, clear and spacious sound. The sub-woofer does not disappoint either, providing the right amount of clear bass when needed, whether it be low or high volume viewing.
And the sound detail normally missed or mashed together through your t.v. speaker, or in this case my Samsung 2.1, will want you to watch your favorite t.v. series or movie(s) all over again, guaranteed!
In a nut shell, if your looking for a Home Theater product without the extra wires, speakers, receiver, expense, etc....this is a must have!!!

Great speakers with just a couple of complaints
Posted by: MikeG from: on
I bought the Bose Cinemate 15 mainly because, as with most flat screens, the sound was lacking. The sound is great, especially with Blu-ray and music. Clear dialogue and sound effects from the soundbar and excellent bass response from the subwoofer. No distortion at loud volumes, which is a major plus.
The remote itself was excellent, too. It's the first aftermarket remote I've found that works every aspect of my cable box dvr.
I only have 2 minor complaints. One is the system can only be operated by remote. No external buttons on the soundbar, with the exception of the bass knob on the subwoofer. If you were to lose or break the remote, you'd have to get a new one to operate it.
Secondly, it would've been nice to have a way to adjust the treble on the speakers. I prefer a slight bit more treble than what these speakers put out.
Overall, though, the sound is still spectacular and I plan on keeping it. It delivers an amazing movie sounding experience for such a small footprint. Though it's not true surround sound, the technology does a great job at simulating it with its two front drivers and two side drivers.
It is a little pricey, in my opinion, but it is Bose, after all. Solidly built and great technology.
