Great razor Posted by: from: on I've used Norelco rotary razors for over 20 years. Unhappy with the cost of replacement blades so I decided to try a new brand. Researched many brands and models and decided on the Braun. Have used now for about a month and it provides a great shave. Took a couple of weeks for my skin to adjust to new razor, but now I'm getting a close, clean shave. Didn't think I needed the cleaner, but wouldn't have another razor without it. Razor comes out very clean and with a fresh smell. Only negative is this style doesn't collect as much razor hair as the rotary style, so it's a little messing if you don't shave at the bathroom sink. However, the close shave is well worth it. So impressed, I replaced my son's Norelco a couple of weeks ago with a Baun. If you get one, be patient for a couple of weeks. Your face has to adjust to any new electric razor. After a couple of weeks, you'll see a difference. Hopefully the replacement blades will work as well as the original. They are reasonable priced. Whatever razor you buy, research the cost and availability of OEM replacement blades.

Smooth, Simple and Hassle-Free Shaver Posted by: from: on My husband had grown tired of his Panasonic electric shaver which required constant cleaning. He found this one with a self-cleaning feature and after researching reviews of similar, more expensive models, chose this one. Braun has an outstanding reputation for shavers so he decided to give it a try. He raves about it; saying it gives a really close, smooth shave and it's so simple and hassle-free to use and clean. After each use, you just place the shaver back in the cleaning and charging station and the sensors tell you whether it needs to be cleaned. If it needs cleaning, you simply push a button. If you're going on a short trip, you can just take the charging cord with you and leave the cleaning/charging station at home. I actually found a much lower price on Amazon but Best Buy matched their price. I had to call in the order to get the price match. I was so amazed at how quick and simple it was to get Best Buy to match Amazon's price; I would definitely order from them again. Their customer service has always been great and I was also able to earn points toward a reward certificate for this purchase.

Best electric razor I have ever owned Posted by: from: NYC on My old wahl standby broke and I decided to take a chance with something new. I have had razor bumps in the past, so I don't want a super close shave so that I can avoid ingrow hairs. I googled for the best type of razor for my situation and this one kept coming up in the top two or three options. I noticed that it had three settings for closeness of shave, so I set it at the least close. I was a bit nervous after the first shave because it felt like very close shave to me so I couldn't imagine what the other two settings were like. I have been using it daily for a little over a week now without any problems. It is a lot more expensive than I have ever paid for a razor before, but if I get 3 or 4 years use out of it then it will be well worth it. The only question that remains is the total cost of ownership as I pay for replacement foid cutters and the clean and renew cleaning system. I am hoping that those to factors will give me the feeling of a brand new razor for as long as I own it.

Great Razor Posted by: from: Travis AFB, CA on A great razor, close shave, fast recharge time, 60 min battery life, cheap replacement parts & no razor burn. I'm in the military and we have very exacting shave standards, this razor exceeds any military standard. The trimmer is adequately powered and functions well. A quality product that will last...my last Braun razor lasted 8 years and survived Iraq & Afghanistan.

My 2nd Braun 7 Series - Wouldn't buy another brand Posted by: from: on I have sensitive skin thus, normal blade to face/traditional razors are a no go for me. When I was 19 I bought my first Braun 7 Series and it's hardly holding in there now, but it still works 8 or 9 years later! Only problem is the battery wont charge any longer so its pretty worn and not very powerful now days. Sooo, I finally decided to buy another razor. Last year tried a Norelco rotary razor, returned the SAME DAY ha, ha. It pulls hairs and rough on my face. Then last week I saw the Braun 7 - 790cc was on sale for $150.00 and I ran out to Bestbuy, stood in that twrrible Thanksgiving checkout line and saved a ton of money. Now, regardless of the sale, ai would have still made the purchase; I just couldn't risk not being able to shave for work ha, ha. This razor is well worth th3 money especially if you have the thing for 8 years as I did. Do the math, I saved money in the long run. I normally don't write reviews but these are expensive itemw and if i can help, then so be it. :)

Great Shaver Posted by: from: Houston, TX on Really good machine. It comes with a cleaning/charging station what make maintenance a breeze. It also comes with a carring case for the shaver and the wall plug can be removed from the station and be used directly to shaver. Really nice if your traveling. Cleaning is very simple. Just dock the shaver, it will analyze the shaver and select the cleaning level, then press the button. To me the cleaning mode is a little loud but not too crazy. Cleaning does take some time and will stop and start a few times. Usually take about 5 minuets. The shave is the best I have had with an electric shave. I know that the unit is water proof and you can shave in the shower. I only dry shave so I don't know how big of a difference it is. From what I know all the 7 series have the same shaver but differ in battery life, quick clean feature, and docking station. I would diffidently recommend the 7 series with a cleaning dock. It shaves my beard and neck area great and the shaver is not loud at all.

Does a good job! Posted by: from: Vernon Hills, IL on I've had a number of electric razors in the past and have had issues with every one. So, when I found this one, which offered a wet-dry option and self-cleaning, I was intrigued. Braun offered a 60 day trial, so I figured I had nothing to lose. I can tell you that I have a very difficult time shaving as my hairs do not grow in the same direction. Regardless, this razor does an acceptable job of keeping everything trimmed. Additionally, since the razor allows me to use shaving cream, I am able to minimize dragging and irritation. The self-cleaning function works well, providing me with a clean, sanitized razor to use every time. Given that I typically shave every other day (I hate doing it, regardless of the device being used), I have had it two months and haven't even used 1/2 of a tank of cleaning fluid -- something I was concerned about as well. All in all, while it's not cheap, this unit does a great job of keeping me looking as good as possible. ;)

good electric shaver for my husband Posted by: from: on My husband has a very coarse beard and while he does not feel it gives him as close a shave as his regular shave with blades does, he is getting accustomed to it. He has had 3 Norelco shavers, they are still unused ,he LOVED his old Braun that is why I bought this one Maybe someday he will adjust. No he does not use his other shave equipment in between. He knows that defeats the purpose.

Excellent Razor Posted by: from: on I'm still looking for an electric razor that shaves as close as a good blade. This isn't it, but it is the best electric I've ever tried, (It's better that the Braun series 5 it replaces.) It's very "electronicky"- lots of info presented, choices of action available, when it wants to be washed! I'd buy it again.

Good Shaver, but overpriced. Posted by: from: on While this is the best shaver I have found for my thick beard, it does not shave real close on the rugged beards. Still have to use a straight razor weekly to avoid ingrown hairs on my neck.
