The Buzzcocks -- an early punk act and contemporaries of the Sex Pistols -- banded together for about six years, or about three times the tenure of Sid Vicious' pack, but always lacked the political edge of the Pistols. Decades later, The Buzzcocks retain a noteworthy foothold in music history for being one of the first bands to attach catchy pop hooks and humorous lyrics to the punk sound. In the early '90s, after years apart, a slightly new lineup of the band surfaced, touring constantly, and the revamped Buzzcocks released several albums. their musical rebound culminates with the home release Buzzcocks: Live at Shepherdsbush Empire 2003, a concert film shot in London on April 27, 2003, in which the group delivers renditions of 26 punk staples. Numbers here include: "Ever Fallen in Love With Someone (You Shouldn't Have Fallen in Love With)," "What Do I Get," "Noise Annoys," "Wake Up Call," "Get on Our Own," and "Mad Mad Judy." ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
