Must have lens!!! Posted by: from: Sun Valley, ID on This lens is a must in your camera bag. I use this along with a 70-200mm and 85 1.2. I have tried to use my 50mm 1.8 but it is not near the quality of the 1.2

Great Lens Posted by: from: St George on My wife is a photographer and so I got her this lens to replace her Signa Art 50 and she has loved it. Says it is way sharper than the Sigma and she is very happy

Great lens Posted by: from: on I have been using the 50mm f1.4 the past year, easy to pick up and a great all around lens. I bought the 50mm f1.2 to shoot at f1.2 and found it to be a bit tricky at first compared to the f1.4 (making sure I aim for the eyes, distance between me, the subject, and background for desired bokeh, etc.) First thing I noticed was better saturation and bokeh with the f1.2. Maybe it's my eyes but it does seem sharper than the f1.4. Beautiful lens, a little better results than the f1.4 but I hope to experiment more with it. I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner, the f1.4 would be fine. Definitely for the more advanced.

Excellent lens Posted by: from: on They call this lens the Nifty Fifty and it is definitely one of my go-to lens. I think the price difference between this one and the f2.8 is worth it just to get the lens to open that much wider and get enough light in for those really low light shots!

Favorite lens Posted by: from: on I was trying to choose between this lens and the 85mm 1.2. I got the 85 and loved it but it was very heavy. I ended up returning it and got this lens. No this lens is not as sharp, yes it has chromatic aberration, BUT! This lens just has a certain magic to it. I love the pictures I get out of this lens.

Superior Glass Posted by: from: on I have loved and coveted this lens since I learned about it some years back. Canon got it right when they first introduced this piece to their L series line up. Tack sharp, the CREAMIEST bokeh and amazing quality images are what you'll find with the 50mm f1.2. UNPARALLELED. Worth every penny.

Nice lens for portrait Posted by: from: on I love the softness of the background. I shoot a 6D and did not face focus issues. Very fast lens. I only used for portrait and I am very satisfied.
