Great unit. But think the 6D has a better sensor.
Posted by: HendersonNevada from: Henderson Nevada on
Instantaneous focus. It's nice. And more options and settings than anyone other than a real, dedicated pro' photographer could ever work out or use.
Have to say though, I get as good (sometimes better) shots with my Canon 6D. Maybe it's the sensor on the 6D. I've been told by pro's that the sensor on the 6D is a tad bit better sensor than the 5D.
The 5D is a great unit, but I'm using my 6D more often. If you're an intermediate photographer and wanting to get the camera of your dreams, I'd say buy a 6D versus the 5D. You won't lose anything in the captures you've always wanted. I haven't seen any increased quality of pictures in the 5D over the 6D. You and your friends will be impressed with your work with the 6D. I don't see where the 5D is so much better than the 6D for the $'s spent. Personal opinion, you understand.
I'm thinking of going to the 3K-4k Nikon. I like the increased pixels.
Hope this helps. Use your best judgement. You'll be happy either way.
The help I received from the BestBuy camera guy was great.

Canon 5D lll - the best
Posted by: CSchneider from: Hyattsville -MD on
Well, this is just the best DSLR camera ever made so far... No comparison. Even with the more expensive cameras from Canon, 5D lll RULES... no comparison... The only tip I would leave here for canon is to make the next model with XLR sound input ... That would make it so easier... :) Bless u all...

Expensive, but well worth the price

Expensive, but well worth the price. Perfect for astrophotographers. It has very low noise with high ISO. The learning curve is not bad for those already familiar with Canon.

Canon 5D Mark III
Posted by: bristaley83 from: on
Canon has been a trusted brand for me for years. I have been following the release(s) of the 5D series throughout my career in photography. With an expanded gear set out there on the market the Mark III offers what I need. Which is why I use multiple 5D MIII's for my events. The package came with an included 24-105mm F/4l Is Lens and all the necessary cords and charging dock. This camera offers great professional capabilities, but also a camera that is suitable for someone that is looking to increase their knowledge and skills to grow in photography. Easily accessible controls/settings, dependable hardware. I recommend anyone to make this a part of their gear set or a first step into a new world of better photography/video.

I upgraded from a T3i to T6s and now the 5D mkIII. I've noticed right off that there is less noise in my images compared to the Rebel brothers when using higher ISO settings. Even though I rarely used the flash on my T3i and T6s, I wish the 5DmkIII had a built in flash as a backup. Another minor gripe I have is that I wish the screen could swivel like the Rebel series LCD panel. Other than that, this camera is fantastic and is worth every penny.

Canon really hit the Mark with the M III.
Posted by: RedDragonTattoo from: Rocklin on
Where to begin? The body is gripped and set-up for user friendly shooting. Non-slip grip and really accessible for right hand control of almost all necessary shooting features. Quick shift of focus points is at your index and thumb and don't require several up and downs away from your subject. The amazing clarity at high ISO and availability to expand images to wall size banners due to the near 24mp is great. I love the 24-105mm 1:4 L IS USM. It is incredibly stable in low light and at the full 105mm. My next glass is the 26-300mm same class, and can't wait. Don't shop around between makes. Buy the Canon. Loved the Mark II, but in love with the Mark III.

Best dslr for video
Posted by: Isaias26 from: Manassas va on
Awesome camera! If your looking for the best dslr camera for video this is the one! I spent months doing my research trying to find the best camera for video many people told me to settle for the canon 6d or the 7d that there's wasn't much difference but I'm glad I didn't listen to them cause when I compare my 5d mark iii to their 6 or 7d there is no competition! Not even close! Those same people are asking me to lend them my camera! GO BUY IT!!!!!!

Incredible camera for all
Posted by: BillyK86 from: on
Before purchasing the Canon 5D Mark III I read numerous reviews and knew that I wanted a professional camera. The 5D Mark III was the winner and what I decided on, and I couldn't be happier. HD video recording is amazing, photography feels like heaven. Everything about this camera is solid. Make sure you look into lenses to achieve certain results you might want, but if you're looking into this camera you know what time it is.

Best camera for prosumers
Posted by: JocaDF from: Brasilia, DF, Brasil on
I had an Canon 7D and upgrade to 5D Mark III as i primarily shoot landscapes (looking for an full frame). It's a little heavier than the 7D but it worth this cost. Having two separate cards is good as I can write RAW and JPG at the same time and use the JPG for early pushing when I'm traveling.

This camera Is worth every penny
Posted by: Reviewatch from: on
Bought the Canon eos 6d first, tried it out and it was alright. It was lacking a lot of features. This camera has it all, it is spendy but it's worth it. Spend the extra Money, you will not be disappointed. The lens in comes with is amazing. I also bought the 1 year warranty for 150 dollars, Probably wont need it, cause this camera is really durable. also bought a couple lens filters with a 32 gig sd card.
I did a quick Unboxing of the Camera kit, Copy and paste the link if you are interested what comes in the box.
