A step up in seriousness4 Posted by: from: Nashville. Swimmin' pools. Movie stars. on My original EOS Rebel died 5 years ago leading me to explore the then rapidly maturing capabilities of smartphone-based photography. Industry failure in support of serious mobile editing led me back to DSLR space. It's not evolved as quickly as I'd hoped for low-light and mirrorless full frame, but the 7D has some significant internal advances. Use of dual (and latest) DIGIC 6 processors swung me away from the 5D (which continues to have better overall reviews.) There are some awful reviews of the 7D, but the Mark II with the latest firmware continues to surprise me. The 7D is definitely NOT a great choice for beginners or casual shooters. This camera is HEAVY. If you add a professional grade L-series zoom lense it becomes tiresomely heavy. Be prepared to adjust because transition to a pro-am camera also requires you to take control of per lens sensor calibrations if you want best results. The quality improvement even when using my old EOS lenses is noticeable. Available options and capabilities the 7D Mark II offers present a challenging learning curve. Be ready to learn even if you thought you knew your old EOS body.

Great camera for enthusiast or professional5 Posted by: from: on I've been shooting with this camera for about a month now and it hasn't let me down yet. The only downside, which is really only a big deal when shooting fisheye, is that is that the camera is not full frame. Other than that, 10fps, 1/250th flash sync, hd video, and many other features make this camera a great choice.

Exellent camera5 Posted by: from: New York, ny on Very happy with the 7DM2. Very sharp pictures, fantastic autofocus, great IS, very good quality movies and very extensive menu. I bought this camera with the 15-85 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens instead of the 18-135mm kit lens.

Great Outdoor & Sports Camera5 Posted by: from: on This is an awesome camera. You get the all features of the 5D Mark iii plus faster shutter speed without the price. I have not used in low light (night games) yet, but based on my experience with this and the 5D Mark iii, the 7D mark ii will perform just fine.

Perfect fit5 Posted by: from: on I purchased this camera as I wanted a faster processor to capture indoor/outdoor sports, and it has performed exceptionally well. I'd recommend reading the manual to learn about the settings
