Perfect for part-time enthusiasts5 Posted by: from: on My husband wanted this for Christmas to go with a lens he already had. He couldn't be happier with it. He has used it almost every day; and with our record snow fall we just got, it was a great time for him to use it again. So, I think that my husband and I are EXTREMELY happy with our purchase, and will probably be getting more in the near future.

Great accessory5 Posted by: from: on Sharpness is not diminished when paired with the 70-200 2.8. Nice extended reach.

Read this before buying2 Posted by: from: on I bought to extend the reach on my EF 100-400mm zoom lens on my Rebel T3. However, the autofocus will NOT work on it at any F stop. The ONLY way to get this to autofocus is to switch to Live mode but the autofocus is slow. I discovered this after visiting a camera store and calling Canon. I'd return this if I could but I am 60 days past the Best Buy return date. So I'm stuck with using this on manual focus or switching to Live mode to get autofocus....which can be tough for shooting birds/wildlife. Learn from my $450 mistake.

Works as expected. Awesome Canon quality.4 Posted by: from: Houston, TX on Bought this for my 70-200 f2.8L and it works great. It's like having another lens. If you're after more than you Canon tele is currently giving you with regards to zoom, check this guy out bring your camera and lens to the store and try it out there and you'll be convinced.

Great Quality Must have for distance shooting4 Posted by: from: on First of all Great Lens. Purchased the extender for event shooting when I am at distance. Quality is great but bit slow in focus. Don't like the fact that I'm losing 2 stops with my 70-200 2.8 but when you need to shoot with distance, it does the job. Great for landscape shots. Great to have when you travel. Canon needs to figure a way to extend without losing 2 stops.

Great product for extra reach when needed5 Posted by: from: Florida on The 2x converter is excellent when you need some extra reach. I use with the 70-200mm 2.8 when I need extra reach, but still need the shorter minimum focus distance over the 100-400mm. Great piece of equipment.

Would not work with the lense purched with it.1 Posted by: from: CHEYENNE, WY on The unit wouldn't focus fast enough to work with a proper lens that I purchased.

Excellent alternative for the price4 Posted by: from: Hawaii on I have been shooting surfers from the beach, at the North Shore, Oahu, with a Canon 5DMIII, 70-200L lens. Without the tele extender 2x, I needed to crop the original photo to see details in the surfers, which resulted in sacrificing considerable sharpness. With the tele extender 2x, I got the same size surfer as in the cropped image but with better resolution. So after shootings throughout the Triple Crown of Surfing Competition, I am overall pleased with the product quality and results, moreover on a few days I even shot some pictures without a tripod due the variable settings of the competitions and still got adequate sharpness. And considering the much lower cost of the 2x vs a 400 mm lens investment, the small decrease in resolution is worth it.
