Captain America: Civil War In this superhero epic, the denizens of the Marvel Universe are forced to pick sides when Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) come to blows over ideological differences. After a mission involving a new Avengers squad led by Cap ends with several civilian casualties in Lagos, the team are asked to sign an agreement that would force them to take orders from a United Nations panel. Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) pressures Cap to accept this new arrangement, in part because he feels deeply guilty about his own past recklessness; Captain America, however, fears that the Avengers will only be corrupted by bureaucracy. Their disagreement eventually escalates into all-out war when Cap's old friend Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), now a brainwashed assassin known as the Winter Soldier, reenters the picture.
Captain America: Civil War brings back former Avengers characters such as Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), and Vision (Paul Bettany); it also drags into the fray low-rent superhero Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), and introduces both the powerful African prince Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and a new, younger incarnation of Spider-Man (Tom Holland). Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. ~ Jack Rodgers, Rovi
Best Marvel Film
Posted by: Jeremiah from: on
I just witnessed Captain America: Civil War & simply put this is one of the best superhero movies I have ever seen. I do not know where to start. The movies starts with a fast pace & continues throughout. The characters are so interesting & newcomers Spider-Man & Black Panther truly shine making you want to see more. This is still a Captain America film at heart & the friendship between Bucky & Cap shows. This movie challenges the unit & beliefs of the Avengers. This movie will shape whats to come in the upcoming movies.

As enjoyable as the comic book with some changes
Posted by: Tien from: on
The movie is fantastic, with some differences to the original comic book but still a very great movie. In my opinion, the only thing that is missing here is a nice statue either from Iron Man or Captain America kinda like DC did with BvS. Anyway all it matters is the movie and as I said as great as the comic book.

Superhero Teambuilding & Division At its Best
Posted by: CJHansolo from: on
NOW, this is proof that film-makers and film companies can actually make outstanding Superhero films. (In contrast to the horrendous-blasphemy that is BVS)
The film introduces new characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) all the while adding even more depth to the characters we know and love already. The pacing of the film permits us to learn of and (more importantly) feel the motivation of these characters.
The Superheros are placed in a new position of control and the question of whom holds that control. Do the heroes register and submit under Government control or do they remain "rogue" and free to choose how they act?
The beauty is that this film actually gives the audience ample reason to reflect and come to their own conclusion and belief in what is "right". Even if you go into the film with your mind set on either "for" or "against" the idea or Superhero registration the film causes you to question whether or not that truly is the best course of action. These questions are very "grown up" and "adult" which is hard to do in a film without emptying all the "fun" out of it. (I'm looking at you, BVS)
HOWEVER, this film manages to address those very adult questions and maintain the "fun" and excitement of a Marvel Superhero film. (GREAT JOB, MCU)
I recommend you do a little bit of back story research so that you may have your own view on the matter and trust me that by the end of the film you will be questioning everything. :)
Enjoy it. I know you will.

Great movie. Definitely lived up to the billing. Filled with lots of action; excellent storyline. Movie truly is in keeping with Stan Lee's Marvel Comics Entertainment empire. Looking forward to the next Marvel adventures.

Definitely one of my top favorite Marvel movies

One of the better movies in the MCU by far! There was a lot of great action and kept me on the edge of my seat. the airport battle was one of the most epic fights I've seen in any movie. Definitely recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of the MCU.
I picked up the steelbook and it looks absolutely awesome! The crack separating Captain America's shield and Iron Man's mask on the cover is embossed (or debossed, don't really know the word for it). The steelbook has a matte finish to it which gives it a really nice feel.
The steelbook version comes with 3D, Blu-Ray, and digital versions of the movie.
If you are a steelbook collector or just a big Captain America fan, the steelbook is definitely the way to go. Great movie, great steelbook, great purchase!

Great movie, but no digital copy?! I would recommend the movie, but not to purchase until Disney provides with digital copy - very disappointed in this.

Right or Just
Posted by: Musicman from: on
Although most people may review this movie from a Marvel Super hero standpoint (and I am a fan!) the message of the movie was a powerful representation of what we all will face at some time or another. When faced with a difficult choice, do we do things right or do we do the right thing. History has shown that successful revolution often begins with someone who refuses to do things "right." On this MLK day, the most memorable action is Rosa Parks taking a seat at the front of the bus. She did not do things right--it was against the law. However, she did the right thing, and in doing so, was arrested--and brought a greater awareness to all that was currently wrong about just following the law.
This is a great movie to launch discussion about standing for right and justice for all, regardless of our differences with the "all."
