Good quality Posted by: from: Riverside CA on Easy to install. It's heavy telling you that's its quality. The only thing during the installation I did not like. Was the fact that they tell you it has 8 SATA CONNECTORS, there are 2 strings of 4 so you have to plan you cable management. I have put this thing under a good load and its holding up. It's not getting hot. I can't say much about the fan because I have so many on my tower to hear it. System setup AMD FX 8320 Asus m5a99fx pro R 2.0 10gb DDR3 1600 Nvidia gtx550 ti (175watt) Corsair h80i water cooler 2 DVD rw 6 fans And 6 UBS devices drawing power from the power supply So I still have room to expand if I need to.

Horrible product and horrible Best Buy service Posted by: from: on I have bought two of these things so far. The first one lasted 3 months before i smelled a faint burning electrical smell. that same day it completely shut off. Replaced it with another one, thinking i got a bad one, and the second power unit did the same thing after only a month. Replaced them both with the original 650W PC power unit, which is cranking away just fine. No reason why my computer would be too strong for a 750W and okay with a 650W. Opened my big mouth when i tried to take the second one back, and Best Buy refused to take it and told me to go through the manufacturer. Yeah, because that always works out great. Corsair makes good memory chips, but stay away from their PC power supplies. It will be a long time until i shop at Best Buy again.

Great Power Supply Posted by: from: Topeka, KS on Well this is my first PC upgrade I'm working on and I purchased a Galaxy - GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card. It needed a new power supply and I wanted to get one that would be strong and last a while. A friend at Best Buy recommended going with the 750 and after reading the reviews I chose this power supply. I ordered it early on a Friday and received it Monday at the store. The reviews I read did not disappoint. This was my first time upgrading a power supply and it was really easy. I like how the cables are removable from the power supply and it keeps everything clutter free. I have a rather small computer and I still fit it in smoothly. I have an older motherboard and the 8-pin connector easily pulls apart to a 4-pin connecter to connect to my CPU. My computer is quieter than before even after installing a much better graphics card and PSU. The matte black finish easily scratched in my smaller computer shell and the sticker in the middle of the PSU is already coming off. I still give it all 5 stars!

Good until the coil whine became unbaearable Posted by: from: on I like the semi-modular style of this PSU for cable management. It seemed to be a good unit until 10 days after installing it and my new EVGA GTX 1070 SC. Whenever the graphics card was under load it would produce a lot of coil whine from the PSU. At first I thought it was my graphics card, but was able to isolate it to the PSU. Some people might be able to live with that coil whine, but it was too loud for me... I have now installed an EVGA 650 GQ and am very happy with it, not to mention it's about the same price for slightly less power but much better components. Just get the better PSU, it's worth it!

Got a Lemon. Posted by: from: Roseburg, OR on I installed the CX750M into a new computer build. The PC started up just fine. I installed Windows 10 OS, still running great. After OS install and all updates and drives installed this power supply shut down and let out a loud " POP" and a burnt smell. I then replaced the power supply with a EVGA 600 80+ and turned the computer on. The computer started up perfectly. No harm was done to my new PC. I called BEST BUY and was told that Best Buy has a two week return policy. I guess I just got a LEMON.

Quiet, easy to install Posted by: from: Honolulu on Bought this for an upgrade to a DELL 8500 i7 Mid Tower. Upgraded the GPU to a EVGA GEFORCE GTX 770. The card needed one 6 and one 8 pin power connector that the original power supply did not have. Upgrading the PSU was simple, just follow the cables from the PSU to the motherboard, fans, and drives, disconnect the old power cables one by one, matching and plugging in the new cables as the old ones are removed, and remove the old power supply, removing the retaining screws and bending the retaining clips back on the chassis to release the power supply. Find the new required cable for the GPU, and install all the new cables on the new PSU. Fit the new PSU into the case (needed to bend the chassis retaining clips out of the way, as the new PSU is larger). The new GPU runs cooler and quieter than the original.

strong power supply Posted by: from: on so i mean what do you write about a power supply i mean it does exactly what it's suppose to it runs my pc very well im using it to power my gaming rig which consists of a amd 6350 a r9 390x with a msi 970 motherboard cooled by a h100i it has 16gb of 1866mhz ddr3 hyper x fury ram a pny ssd a seagate baracuda 7200rpm hdd and 6 case fans and a after market rgb led kit all and all alot of power going in and out and it runs it nicely i like that it's semi modular i wish is was fully but not a breaking point for me and i absolutely love that the cables are black sleeved for this price point the the colored cables are a thing of the past and need to stop being made its dumb but it works very well and my pc looks good so im happy

Coil Whine is INSANE Posted by: from: on I purchased this because it is semi modular, 750W, and decently priced. After finishing my build, I noticed bad coil whine during gaming, especially during loading screens. I thought it was my EVGA 980ti ACX 2.0 but after closer inspection it was the PSU! Honestly, after this build I used an EVGA 1000W G2 in a new server build and the quality is AMAZING. Not knocking Corsair, but this one definitely turned me away.

Clean install, reserving judgment on longevity Posted by: from: on I had to buy this unit on the fly because my other Corsair power supply failed at random after nine months. This was the best option available in store at my local Best Buy. Luckily it was on sale for the Amazon price (Best Buy is usually overpriced on components). Unlike the CX600 I had before, this unit is truly modular: only the motherboard and CPU power cables are permanently attached. This made for a much cleaner installation than the CX600. So far my system is humming along just fine while I wait for my replacement from Corsair, which will probably end up being used for another build down the road. I'm giving the product four stars for working out of the box, but from now on I'll reserve my fifth star for products that have help up for more than a year without incident.
