decent headset

Awesome sound quality... for a short time

Posted by: Minus from on 03/10/2016I'm a long time user of the Logitech G930 but my last set took a spill off my desk and cracked so I figured I'd give the Corsair set a try having always been a reliable and quality hardware maker. I fell in love with this headset very quickly, it fits wonderfully, very snug even with glasses and the sound quality is phenomenal. However that honeymoon was short lived. A little over a month after purchasing I started getting spotty audio crackling and that eventually progressed into almost full time crackling every few seconds. Very, very annoying and no amount of audio driver fiddling or application switching prevented it. Then, finally, the bass went out completely AND it still crackles. Sadly I didn't purchase the BB warranty nor did I save the receipt for an RMA and while Googling for the crackling woes I discovered it's actually a very common occurrence with this headset. So, buyer beware! If you do purchase it KEEP EVERYTHING and pick up the BB warranty just in case. If this product didn't die out within two months it'd easily be a 5 star item. Alas.
