At Best Buy, whenever we sell products that have been refurbished, we clearly message them as such and offer a savings (as compared to the price of the same product when new), along with our regular return policy. Please see our Refurbished Product FAQs below for more information.

What does "refurbished" mean?

Occasionally, technology misbehaves right out of the box or becomes defective over time. Other products work as expected, but need some sprucing up (such as a new screen, battery or casing). Refurbished products are repaired and restored to a like-new state, either by one of Best Buy's in-house repair centers, the manufacturer or a third-party refurbishment company. They are verified to work properly and include all parts and accessories (original or comparable substitutes). All refurbished products sold by Best Buy also include a warranty — ranging from 90 days to 1 year — and Best Buy's Return & Exchange Promise applies. For refurbished products sold through Marketplace, warranties vary by product, and return policy details are available for each Seller through the Marketplace Seller Directory.

Why did customers return these products?

Refurbished products may have been returned for any number of reasons. Sometimes the product may not have been working properly, but more often the reason for the return was something as minor as the wrong size, color, or compatibility issue.

Are refurbished products tested to make sure they work properly?

Yes. Regardless of the reason for their return, refurbished products are inspected by professional technicians who first troubleshoot and then perform any necessary repairs to ensure full functionality. Technicians also assign a cosmetic grade (A, B, C, etc.). Refurbished products sold by Best Buy are Grade A or B refurbished products, unless otherwise noted, and are processed and reinspected to ensure they look and perform like new.

Why should I purchase a refurbished product?

Buying refurbished products saves you money. Refurbished products are sold at a significant savings versus the cost of the same product brand new. They are a great way to save money on products you want for backups, kids, the gym/cabin/garage, etc.

Can I return a refurbished product if I have a problem with it?

Yes, our standard Best Buy Return Policy applies. In addition, an original manufacturer, third-party refurbishment company or Best Buy or third-party warranty may be included. See individual product pages for applicable warranty information.

Buying refurbished products is a great way to help support the environmental "green" effort. Refurbished products are often returned with nothing wrong with them at all, or require only minor functional and/or cosmetic repairs.
