Cools good, is very loud!
Posted by: Mucksiegooma from: Buhl, MN on
I purchased this unit a month ago. It seems to cool okay for the few times
that I have used it. My complaint is that it is very loud compared to my old Panasonic A/C. Even on low fan speed, it seem extremely loud. There isn't much difference in the decibel level between high and low fan speeds.
Had I known about this, I may have considered another, quieter brand.

Great Unit for the Price

The Unit works great for the bedroom. It cools down the room in minutes. Installation took a few trips to the hardware store, but in the end it was well worth it.

Does the job well...

Very happy with this model. I may be asking a bit much of it to cool down, in effect 3 rooms (open floor plan), but it does a decent job of providing relief during these muggy NYC heat waves. Runs a bit on the loud side. Also, the dimensions provided don't seem to take into account the side flaps, so be sure to measure a few extra inches on both sides. I did appreciate the insulation material that came with the unit.

So Far, Great
Posted by: OldTimeGeezer from: on
I owned 2 of these but older models for about 10 years.
This one unit actually cools the entire downstairs - 5 rooms.
(House is well insulated and behind some large oak trees until about 11 AM.) It is quieter than than the older models.
I had to get used to hitting "cool" to keep the fan running when powering it on instead of letting it use the default "energy saver" which shuts the fan off between compressor cooling runs. (So that it continues to circulate the cool air throughout the rooms until the temp rises to kick off the next cooling cycle)
