Best wearable on the market

I've had the surge and charge HR and they do not hold a candle to my 235. The 235 is more accurate for running, biking and even steps. The messages are easy to read and everything syncs up quickly. The big selling point for me is its water proof. I want to be able to shower, swim and do the tough mudder and keep my watch on, I can do that with the 235. The app still needs work but Garmin is working on that. This watch is definitely a keeper!!!

This is an amazing upgrade from the Fitbit Surge. I love the fact that it's water resistant meaning I can shower and swim with it and I don't have to worry about the dreaded rash that I'd get from the surge. Easy to use and with my small wrist, it fits just right!!

I've had the forerunner 235 since Jan 2016, and has been very pleased with it. I mostly use it for cycling and cardio...user friendly, accessible function keys, easily syncs with my garmin edge when cycling. HR sensor is a few seconds delayed, but is reliable when using it for trends. Overall, satisfied with it compared to the Fitbit charge.

I love this watch don't ever want to take it off! A bit expensive but it is totally worth it. Combined the Fitbit with my garmin forerunner 10 now I only have to wear one!

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!!

Love this watch!! I have small wrist but it's not heavy. I can connect with my sisters watch and we compete daily on our steps and activities which then motivates me even more. Downloaded a hike app and it works good. Can't say enough it's so cool !!

tons of potential but falls short
Posted by: BarneyStinson from: on
this watch has a lot of potential because of the many features it offers but doesn't quite deliver. the screen is advertised as bright but is very dim and the one i got had light bleeding at the bottom. my iphone showed i was connected to the watch but the garmin app and watch said i was not. very confusing menu system. really only usefull for runners, cant track any other activities as well

HR sensor needs work

Nice watch, does most things well, heart rate Sensor could be better as well as the sleeping function. Would be nice if the "other hr activity" option on the watch could be customizable

Excellent GPS watch with lots of other features

I've had this watch for about 3 months and I absolutely love it. I actually started off with the Vivoactive HR, but I have a small wrist and found it uncomfortable. The Forerunner 235 is much more comfortable and I wear it all the time except on the rare occasion I am going to a semi-formal or formal function when the watch is just too sporty. I'm a runner who doesn't run quite as much as I used to, but I love all the statistics regardless. Giving up some of the activity tracking functions the Vivo offered was no big deal (I don't golf or paddleboard) and I'm definitely happier having the additional running functions of the 235. I upgraded from an older model (forerunner 410) and I'm really enjoying all the extra features. I love the activity tracking, although I do find that sometimes the step count can be off by as much 25%. I have a good idea how many steps I cover when I walk and find this watch sometimes (not always) varies significantly. I also use an iPhone and find that to be more consistent and accurate. Having said that, I still give this watch 5 stars because the step count is not the primary reason I got it. Syncing with phone app can be slower than I would like, but again, not a deal breaker for me. Aside from those two minor (for me) glitches, everything else works great. The GPS loads lightening-fast - no more waiting and waiting as I had to previously do on occasion with my older Garmin. The display is great and very customizable. There are so many features, I haven't even figured them all out yet. The smart notifications are really cool, too. I was at a meeting for work where we all had to turn in our phones. No worries for me; I was wearing my Garmin and got my notifications. I didn't need to worry the possibility of a rare emergency, like my kids' school calling because one of them became sick (highly unlikely, but in that rare instance when the phone is taken away, that's when I just know I'm going to get such a call). Or if I'm out with friends, if I get a text, I can quickly glance at my wrist without being one of those people who's looking at their phone so much, it seems like they'd rather be somewhere else. I love the heart rate monitor, too, as I never could deal with the chest strap. I owned one with the old watch and never once used it. Big waste of $$ because I liked the idea but could never be bothered. I can finally now do heart-rate training without any fuss using the wrist-based heart rate. Another feature that's new to me that I like a lot is the recovery time which automatically pops up every time I finish a run. I don't always follow it, but it's nice to have it, since I tend to overdo it sometimes and push myself too much. VO2 max is another great feature. Battery life is good and charging is fast. Having used a Garmin GPS watch for the past 5+ years as well as owning a Garmin car GPS, I am big fan of Garmin. Their customer service is fantastic, too.

I love this watch, you can track your runs, and it also counts your steps and HR. It is an all in one activity watch.

Running watch and more!
Posted by: runningiowagirl from: on
I love this watch! The best part is not having to wear a chest strap to track my heart rate. I run 3+ times a week and cross train 3 times a week and use my watch to track all of my workouts. You can set it up for interval training and it also has settings for running indoors, biking outdoors and indoors. I use the other setting for cross training. It's very comfortable. I thought it would seem big at first but I have no problem wearing it. It's very light. The gps syncs up really fast and as long as it is tracking your heart rate before you start your workout it is pretty accurate. If you start your workout without your heart rate recognized, it normally won't pick it up. The only issue I've had is that occasionally when I interval train it doesn't track my heart rate accurately. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I don't know if I'm moving too much but I'll be totally out of breath and it says my heart rate is 80 or 90 bpm. It will eventually find it, but for a while I know it isn't right.
