First K-pop album
Posted by: Dval from: Clarksville, TN on
Never was big into K-Pop until recently with more anime titles having Korean singers and with Girls Generation playing on our Samsung display at work. Figured I liked the sound enough that I'd start getting some albums!
I always love how Korean and Japanese artists manage to mix in a bit of English into almost every song. It gives a definite tie-in to an English audience that might not know what is being said for the entire song, but they can recognize a key phrase throughout.
This album manage to mix a good amount of song types. Gee starts off as a good up-beat track with lots of energy. "Way to Go" has a definite anime feeling to it. "Dear: Mom" is slow and calming and feels like a slow-paced R&B track. The album finishes with a decidedly pop feel.
Sadly, at only 5 tracks, the album is pretty short. It lasts all of about 16 minutes. Definitely better than just a single, though. Now to just wait on some of the other back-ordered tracks to come back in!
