Strong suction

Posted by: ebme from on 04/03/2016I bought this to replace an old Hoover upright that was not getting the job done anymore. It works well but the suction is so strong that if you set the carpet for too low of a carpet on a low carpet you can hardly move the thing as it is sucked to the carpet. Others speak of messy to empty but I find it no problem, just be sure to be over the trash container before opening the dust bin then rinse with a garden hose or in a laundry tub or similar.

Tremendous Vacuum at a great value

Posted by: JoeWilier from on 04/02/2016I bought this vacuum after using another Hoover for about 17 years. I thought I knew what a "clean" carpet looked like. This is my first bagless, and it makes a huge difference to see what you're getting out of the carpets. Between actual dirt, and lint that's been embedded for a while, the suction on this gets it all up. I've been using it now for a month, and it continues to pull debris out of the carpets, although it is becoming less with each use. The piles are standing again, the house smells more fresh, and overall, feels cleaner. The vacuum is light at 12 pounds, easy to use, including the attachments, and does a nice job on stairs. The complaint my daughter voices is that it leaves very obvious vacuum marks in the carpets, which I like, but some may not. Based on my recommendation, a friend bought the same vacuum for her house, and she says it also does a great job with pet hair. If you're in the market, this is a great value for the price, and a fantastic product!

Terrible Purchase

Posted by: EverydayMom from on 04/01/2016Purchased this because I needed a new one for spring cleaning ,I had had my Bissell Pet Pro for over 10 years and my hose began to crack.I kept my new one in the box for 2 weeks wasn't going to use it until I finished my spring cleaning,opened the box and it seemed to work perfect just a bit heavy ,used it two days my husband unplugged it that night and the next morning we plugged it up and NOTHING ,no power ,noise,just dead.Tried to return it and got the run around because the warranty is 15 days and I had had it about 18 ,I could get in store credit even though I paid cash.I was very disappointed,the one I wanted Best Buy carried but couldn't match Kohls price due to an in store promotion.After an ugly disagreement with a manager and speaking to a general manager they matched the price .I purchased a Shark Professional Rotator . I absolutely LOVE it ! Worth the few extra dollars. I have pets and birds so I vacuum regular sometimes twice a day ! GOOD LUCK hope this was helpful

It didn't last very long...

Posted by: DREAMY1 from on 03/28/2016After only perhaps ten uses, the cord overheated. When we went to unplug the vacuum, the cord itself was so hot it was difficult to touch. I've never had an issue with a cord. We returned it under the warranty and replaced it with something else. While we had it the suction was slightly lacking.
